Rescue Me ID: 17-07-19-00440Bella (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

The adorable Miss Bella a 7 year old Aussie mix needed out of the shelter. She was a matted mess and had to be shaved but she usually has long flowing fur. Bella we believe was left outside her whole life and with some work from our amazing foster mum taught her that baby dolls live inside, and so she will no longer be sleeping outside ever again. Bella loves people and enjoys the company of other dogs, we have no way to test for children or cats. Bella came into the rescue with a growth on the outside of her eye that we got removed which was nothing, she got a dental, she is chipped, spayed, heart worm negative, up to date on her shots and ... (Read More)is looking for her a new family where another dog is present or the people are home during the day. Here are a few words from Bella's foster mom: 'She is very mild and calm and just let my dogs smell her without a problem. She let me trim her thick coat for over an hour without a sound... She knows to go outside and has a morning routine.' Please note we never guarantee a dog to be pottytrained. Even though Bella has not had any accidents inside, every new home/environment/owner schedule is different and a dog needs time and patience to get into a routine. 'Very quickly, she was following me everywhere and giving me the occasional licks. She does love her treats and kinda chases after the treats for others but shows no aggression at all including feeding. Now she knows she is welcome where all my other dogs are (which is everywhere - LOL).' 'She loves laying on the various dog beds and also the cool floor, often by my feet. She has even started to whine (Just a little) when I run errands but she is thrilled to greet you coming home. Never heard her bark... If you are looking for a special dog that will love you for a lifetime she's the one.' Bella has an adoption fee of $500 & will be available for her new forever home on August 1st so we are currently taking applications for her forever home. ____________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Adoption Process All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 recognized charity. Our volunteers dedicate all their free hours to finding the best loving home for each of our dogs. (Less)

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
