Rescue Me ID: 18-02-16-00037Sully (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Silly little Sully is approx 3.5mo old and currently weighs 22lbs. He is a very active puppy that would do best with a larger dog in the home. He is very dependent on his doggy playtime but still has a very rude play style. An older, playful dog will help him continue to learn proper playstyle and manners. When he's with a person, he is very gentle and affectionate. He is very smart and learns very quickly so someone that will continue with his training and socialization is a must. He is already fully crate trained and needs just a bit more help with his house training. He's also learning to walk on a leash and ride politely in a car. ... (Read More) Sully is wonderful with children so would be a great addition to a home with school age kids. He MUST have a fenced backyard and because of his young age, he should not be left alone for more than 4-5hr intervals. The $485 adoption fee includes all 5, first year vaccines, microchip, worming series and neuter surgery. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-31-00637George (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

GEORGE is A GREAT dog. He is a 5-mo-old Australian Shepherd mix. He is happy and loves children. We are working on house training. He is interested in cats and finds them interesting when outside. He would need a little training in this department. He and his sister Babbette do not yet understand the leash and collar yet but they are picking it up fast. Yes, sadly in TX great puppies are dumped all the time in the streets and shelters which are insanely high kill. Thankfully for George and his sister, they went directly to rescue and were not on the streets or in a shelter. They were relinquished by their humans :( Adoption Fee: $450. ... Rescue Me ID: 18-01-29-00009BENNY (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

BENNY is well loved by our family. He is a wonderful dog. He is active, smart and happy. We have 16, 13 and 10 year old boys. Ben is wonderful with us, but is unpredictable with strangers and children outside of our family. He has bitten a child (broke skin/stitch required) who is a friend of one of our boys, forcing us to consider rehoming him to someone who would not have children. Ben would do well with a lot of space with a family with older members. We have his sister, so he is used to another dog, but unsure how he would be with unknown dogs. He's been boarded before and had no issue. He's never been around cats. He loves ... (Read More)socks, but unless you for a knot in them he does not chew, just collects. He loves playing with his ball. He will chase a ball all day long, although he's not great at giving it to you to throw! Giving him up is hard for us, but feel it is necessary for the safety of our kids and guests. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-01-00439Urpi (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This is Urpi, pronounced (oor-pih) is a quechua word for 'bird.' This cutie has been in my family since we adopted her 12 years ago--she was barely 2 months old. When my parents moved back to Peru, I took her with me so she wouldn't have to go back to a shelter. She has had a really important role in my life, has taught me so many invaluable lessons, and has been the most loyal friend I could ever ask this process is truly difficult for me. I'm really sad I can't care for her anymore, but she deserves better. When we adopted her from the shelter, they told us she is an Australian Shepherd mix, but I think she also has some ... (Read More)Lapponian Herder in her. She is house trained, neutered, weighs 40 pounds and all her shots are up to date. She has been on flea/tick prevention medication for a while now. Urpi is most definitely a herder breed (just not sure what kind) and she is meant to live out in the country or with someone who can dedicate time to her exercise needs. Because of her breed, she gets anxious if she doesn't exercise well--she will probably try to find things on counter or the floor/trash to chew on to try to get your attention. She is old, but she LOVES long walks and can still run along with you...especially if it's in the woods. If she gets her daily needed exercise, she will sleep and lounge the rest of the day. I haven't been able to train her to not sleep on my bed or couch, so someone who has great training skills or likes to cuddle with pets is a good match for her. She doesn't really get interested in playing with other dogs, but she doesn't mind them or acts aggressive toward them. In the past, she has lived with other dogs and also a cat (it took her a few weeks to adapt to cat, but in the end, they were able to live in the same house peacefully). It would be amazing if her new family would allow me to visit her sometimes, but more importantly, she deserves a loving, caring home. I'm not able to care for her anymore, as I'm currently pregnant and will not have the capacity to give her the attention she needs and deserves. She really is a sweet, tender dog, just not the typical affection-seeking one. (Less)
