Rescue Me ID: 14-12-16-00294Texas (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Texas is possibly Australian Shepherd (because of the coloring) and I'm not sure what else. The ears are so different ... almost like a Belgian Melinois... and she is slender...no matter what the picture looks like. She is about 7-8 mos old, spayed, 2 vaccinations including a Rabies Vax. She is tested NEG for heart worms as well as negative for Ehrlichia, Lime Disease, and ANA Plasma which are all tick borne diseases. Texas is the SWEETEST, most LOVING dog I've found and she is absolutely GORGEOUS. She is about 30#...definitely medium sized. She may get just a little bigger but not much. Her hair is short and shiny. Her marbling is ... (Read More)so eye-catching. She respects cats and she got along immediately with my other dogs. The picture makes her look short and stocky. She's not. She is slender and about the size of the average Border Collie. Adoption fee is $400 which covers all medical, transport fees, and health certificate to travel and she can be on the next transport in January. Rescue Me ID: 14-11-17-00043Marley (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Marley is actually a Kelpie, and extremely energetic, athletic and smart. Affectionate and sweet, he also can be stubborn. I have had him out running for nearly 2 hers. He learns anything he's interested in fast, and would love a herding job, as he spends lots of time trying to do that with dogs and sometimes his owner. He needs more room to run and a younger and more active owner. He's very clever and funny and enjoyable to own, except for his yearning to work hard which I can't give him.

Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
