Rescue Me ID: 15-10-12-00163Bear (male)
Bear is a 3 year old German/Australian Shepherd. His mother was full blood German Shepherd and his father was half German Shepherd and half Australian Shepherd. He is long haired. Bear is crate and cage trained. He is an indoor and outdoor dog, but spends most of his time indoors. Bear would do best with adults and older children around 13 years of age. We are having to find him a new home due to an incident with a neighbor child and our housing office is making us. A neighbor child ran up behind Bear and scared him and he turned and nipped the child and the parents called the police. We dont have much time and need to find him a home that can care for him. Bear loves to go for walks at the beach and go for rides in the car. (Less)

Animal ID: Buddy (male)
This beautiful boy is ready to meet his new forever family! He and his siblings had a rough start, and ended up in my rescue. Now they are chomping at the bit to get jobs and start their careers as family protector and companion! Buddy is a sweet, friendly, and outgoing boy. His heritage is simply a guess, based on what neighbors knew about his parents. It is probable that he has some hound and border collie in that body, too! If you are ready for a wonderful new and forever family member, and you are prepared to neuter Buddy, please come meet him!

Rescue Me ID: 15-10-06-00557Mad Max (male)
Mad Max has made it to Seattle all the way from Houston, Texas and he has quite a story! He showed up at the school where I teach last March. No one could approach him or touch him. He was severely emaciated and covered in mange. When school ended for the summer, he was still hanging out in the parking lot. Surprisingly, he waited all summer in the parking lot. Staff fed him and gave him water during the blistering Houston heat. By August, when teachers returned to campus, Max was in horrible condition. He still would not allow anyone to approach him. The administrators at the school said he had to be off property fast, or the authorities would be called. I knew that if the city pound came out, Max would end up dead. So, we borrowed a dog-trap and trapped him! After a few weeks of medical treatment and love, Max is a different dog! He is friendly and very active. Still very much a puppy, he is probably around 1 year old. He loves to jog with his foster mom, and he is doing well with crate training. Max would thrive in an active home where he could go on hikes, jogs, and other adventures. He appears to be a Husky/Australian Shepherd mix and has blistering blue eyes. Max has already been flown to Seattle from Houston and is available to meet you. He is neutered and up to date on shots. Max comes with free training advice from his foster dad/dog trainer. All Max has known is the street, and he still shows some signs of the trauma and suffering he endured. He needs a patient and experienced owner to help him adjust to life as a loved family member. Scarlet is an energetic and smart girl! She is looking for an active home, and a secure yard. She is a one owner dog, who has never been outside her fence! |Rescue Me ID: 15-08-23-00645Tanner (male)|
Hi! My name is Tanner, I've had quite a rough start for a 6 month old puppy. I was on the street trying to fend for myself with 2 broken legs and a broken pelvis. A good Samaritan tried to rescue me but I was too afraid. She fed me for awhile and then I realized she wanted to help me so I let her catch me. Then I went to Mr Vet who got me feeling better and checked my legs. They had already healed, so there was not much more to do. I run and play like a normal puppy, but I have a limp. I roughhouse with my foster brothers and sisters, and I mind the cats well that live in the house. I'm learning not to be afraid, and my foster family is helping me with my confidence. They take me on walks and in the car and buy me tacos!! I am coming out of my shell, even tough I am shy, I realize that people are mostly good despite what happened to me. I am potty trained which means I get to sleep in bed with my foster parents, but I am crate trained too. Learning leash skills and basic commands. I am hoping for a home that has a dog, so I always have a buddy. Also, I need a home that will take care of me forever, no matter what. I am neutered, and fully vetted. My foster Mom thinks I am super cute and sweet. Am I the right dog for you? Tanner is in foster care in San Antonio. If you would like to learn more about Tanner, please email his foster mom, Carla Relf, at email@example.com . His adoption fee of $350 includes air travel to the PNW and all vaccinations, health certificate and medical records. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-08-21-00565Brody (male)
I love this dog to death he is amazing when it is just him and I, but he does not do good with some others. He is aggressive with other people coming into his space. The next thing is a shelter and I'd really hate to see that. Please help. He needs to go to someone familiar with Aussie issues and good with dogs.

Animal ID: 0311Madison (female)
Hi! My name is Madison, I'm a 4-5 year old Aussie! I'm one big girl, I'm 80 pounds of love! Some of my favorite things to do are to be a lap dog and your shadow! I've had a hard life so I am still timid at times but I just need a good loving family with no cats and maybe just one other dog. I love belly rubs and being told I'm a good girl. I am crate and house trained. I really need a family that can devote a lot of attention to me so I can gain their trust once that is done I'm a perfect angel! I am good with children! I have been hungry in the past and that is the reason when I see food I wanna get it! But I listen to commands and will stop! I can sit and lay down and my foster mom and I are working on more commands! If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our foster application at: http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.com/adoptionapplication.php. My adoption fee is $250. All adoption fees are used so that ASF can save more of my friends. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-11-00293Angus (male)
Angus is good with kids and adults that he knows. A home with with teenagers or just adults would be best. He gets nervous around strangers. Experience with giant breeds preferred. Angus is St. Bernard, and 1/8 Aussie.

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Washington
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
