Rescue Me ID: 17-03-28-00414Texas Pete (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet new arrival Texas Pete ! The picture doesn't show the size of this pup of only 11 months, but he is a big boy. He is very well mannered, house trained, lays around in the house, loves car rides, crate trained and loves the other foster dogs in his home. Once outside he does like to run, roll and play like a puppy. He is a gentle giant and has years ahead of him to be a forever companion. To adopt you can go to augustadogadoptions.org

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-28-00127Jenny (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Very Submissive
Health: Spayed

Jenny is a 6 year old gal who lived her whole life in an outdoor kennel with her mother Jacki, who is also looking for a forever home. Because Jenny was never allowed to be part of a family and have the positive experiences with people, she is very scared of almost everything. She does not bite or react with aggression. She will need a patient new family with a fenced in yard and another dog to comfort her. We are so happy that we could save Jenny and hope that we can find an adopter who will feel some compassion for her and accept her as she is. She weighs about 30-40 pounds. $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) ... (Read More)helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough) , microchipped and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals. Rescue Me ID: 17-03-18-00152SAM (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sam is a 70 lb., 3 yr. Australian Shepherd / Bernese Mountain Dog mix that is very intelligent with medium energy and very people oriented. He has one amber eye and one dark brown eye. His tri colored coat is of moderate length, soft to the touch and he has a full tail. Sam knows 'sit', 'down', 'stay' and 'come'. I would recommend a basic obedience class to improve his 'on-leash' walking. He is food motivated and gentle when taking treats. He has pretty good 'recall' for a young dog. Being somewhat of an adolescent, he likes to counter and trash can surf, but he is learning this is not acceptable. He is very people friendly, ... (Read More)but he can get over excited which results in him jumping up (but he responds well to down). He plays really well with our 3 Aussie's and like them, Sam can be vocal, barking when he wants something or is protecting his home. He has too much interest for a home with indoor cats. Sam is learning to enjoy his crate; he eats in it, sleeps in it at night and goes in it if we can't watch him during the day. Sam will settle in the house after adequate exercise. Due to his size and lack of personal space awareness, children should be over 10. He likes to be brushed but does not like his feet touched (but he is making progress). Sam is UTD on his shots, neutered, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. He is a handsome boy that will be a devoted, loyal companion for anyone that has an active lifestyle. He would be a perfect prospect for a running partner, agility, barn hunt or just playing fetch. For additional information on Sam, please fill out an on-line adoption application at https://www.petstablished.com/pets/public/109779. His adoption fee is $250.00. If you have additional questions you can email his foster Mom at tinagrove@ymail.com. SOHO requires you to provide a Vet reference. If your current or past companion animals are not UTD on vaccines and Heartworm treatment you will not be considered for adoption. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-08-00581RUBY (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ruby is a very special girl that came from a hoarding situation. Ruby was not mistreated in the conventional sense, but she was never properly socialized. She lived her entire life in an enclosed yard with her two siblings and one other dog. They were provided food, water and shelter but little else. Ruby has come a long way but is still very skittish. She needs a quiet home with a special person that can continue her rehabilitation and teach her to trust humans. She is good with other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats. She does display some food aggression with other dogs but no aggression with humans. She enjoys car rides and long ... (Read More)walks. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-07-00532Cali (female)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Cali is a beautiful, 11.5 yr old, red Merle purebred mini Australian Shepherd (though built more like a standard Aussie at 55 lbs) that I have had since a puppy. She is a wonderful companion to a single person but has been subjected to a divorce, a move and a loss of her 13.5 yr old sister in the past two years. She has no health issues and has been kept up-to-date with all vaccinations at a local vet; she was spayed in early 2015. She is meant to live a life in wide open spaces but is cooped up in a townhouse in the city. This has created anxiety and a tendency to nip both in the house and the community. She has never been around cats ... (Read More)for long periods but spent her entire life with another Aussie, though she tends to be the alpha around other dogs in the community and will demonstrate aggressive tendencies. She does very well with females but seems to not do well with children, most males and all beards. Her behavior seems to be more protective of me because when I am not present she is well-behaved with the vet stating no issues when she comes for boarding which happens regularly. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-04-00206Addison (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Addison 'Addie' (pictured on the left - light brown coat) is a 50 pound Australian Shepherd/Husky mix who is 6 years old. She is smart, sweet, loving girl who is great with adults as well as kids. We have a 2 1/2 year old and 3 month old, both of which she is around on an everyday basis. However, with 2 children now in the home she is not getting the attention she needs and deserves. Addie loves running outside and playing with any ball you give her. She'll snuggle up with you on your bed if you let her, but she is fully crate trained and house broken. Addison has one blue eye and one brown eye and is incredibly smart. She is obedient, as ... (Read More)long as you let her know who the leader of the pack is. We would prefer she be adopted out with her brother, Ovie (pictured on the right- black coat), is a 35 pound mixed breed. He is equally as sweet, very obedient, crate trained/house broken, and able to be let off a leash outside and not run off. He is a year younger (5 years old) and neutered. Ovie is a little more on the shy side and tends to let Addie be the leader. He is great with adults and typically shy around kids. He'd rather lay on the stairs or on your lap and watch the world go by. We would like Addie and Ovie to go to a loving forever home where they will be able to have the love, attention, and play time they deserve. Please help us out and bring these two into your family! Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Wyatt is special needs because of his anxiety. He was ignored for most of his life and then dumped at a high kill shelter. He doesn't trust people and is not sure how to interact with them. He loves people though and wants to be a part of the family. He will just need someone that can give him the time and attention he needs to be reassured. He has made a lot of progress but is still very shy. He does well on a leash and loves kids. He let's my 2 year old grandson lead him around. He has so much love to give to the right family. Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kovu is approximately 3 years old and very full of life. We rescued him off of the side of the road very malnourished and close to death. A heavy chain was nearly embedded in his neck, and his fur was full of mats.He had heartworms when rescued, but has since been treated. Kovu is now a healthy, happy pup. He is very loving, but can not be around other dogs. Kovu will seem okay with most dogs at first, but will randomly snap on them so he MUST be an only dog. Cats are fine. We would keep him but we have two dogs who he very strongly dislikes.
