Joyce is a beautiful 3 year old mini Australian Shepherd mix. She gets along well with other dogs but seems to prefer the company of humans. She likes to play and willl even occupy herself with a toy but tends to be mostly calm and laid-back. Joyce weighs a little under 25 lbs. and is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. Everyone remember Trixie? One of 3 siblings Australian Shepherds Furever saved from Bertie County NC last month? Shes now ready for her New Family to find her. Shes approximately 10 months old ,Aussie Beagle mix. She was very scared at first but now is very friendly ,walks well on leash,good with dogs and cats and people of any age and is crate trained. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
