Rescue Me ID: 17-07-15-00309Liberty (female)
Hello, I am looking for a home for my dog. Her name is Liberty and she is 7 years old and has recently become incompatible for our home. She is one of the most loyal dogs in the world and an absolute sweetheart to myself and my spouse, that being said we have young children and she is very dominant and has shown aggression towards them, which painfully leads us to seek other options. We have been her only owner and absolutely love her and this is a nightmarish decision for our family but safety is an issue here. She is a very athletic dog and would do extremely well in a setting free of other dogs and children, and she lives an active lifestyle. She is housebroken, and accident free in seven years and hasn't chewed a thing her entire life. Best suited for a younger person who enjoys the outdoors, She loves exercise and will hike, swim or run for hours. She is capable of running at a very good pace for over five miles and has been my workout partner for years. This is very sad for us to do this and we are seeking absolutely the best possible place for her. I can be reached at email@example.com (Less)

Animal ID: 7116Joyce (female)
Joyce is a beautiful 3 year old mini Australian Shepherd mix. She gets along well with other dogs but seems to prefer the company of humans. She likes to play and willl even occupy herself with a toy but tends to be mostly calm and laid-back. Joyce weighs a little under 25 lbs. and is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH's heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-21-00452Jax (male)
Jax was rescued from the streets of Kuwait City, where he was severely tortured by teenagers and police. Jax recently arrived in the U.S. just as loving as can be. He likes to play, and cuddle, and he is a lapdog. He has amazingly adjusted to his new world and has shaken off his life of neglect and abuse. He has some food and possession guarding issues, so he is a work in progress while he continues to gain trust. He is a very special boy and needs a very special, loving, accepting, and caring home. Our adoption process and application can be found on our website www.RuffRanchSanctuary.com

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-10-00251Finn (male)
Hi! I'm Finn and I love to snuggle with my favorite girl. I was born in Nov 2015 and I weigh about 40 pounds. I live with my brother (dog) and sister (cat). I love to run with my mom on a leash, and chase my brother around our fenced backyard. He likes to climb over, but I prefer to stay put unless my humans leave the gate open. I'm housebroken and crate trained. My brother is a chow hound, and I prefer to snack all day, so mom usually has to feed me in my crate. My human family loves me, but I cant seem to stop barking at my human dad and brother whenever the girls are around. I would love a mom to run with and be protective of. If she has a nice ranch or lives near a doggy park, I would be the happiest dog! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-28-00407Pippa (female)
Pippa is looking for her forever family who will understand her sweet nature and the characteristics of her breed. She is a herding dog, so she will need space and a job! Her last job just ended and that was to lovingly and patiently nurture her eight puppies for nine weeks at the rescue. She is ready now for the next chapter - the one where she gets all of the attention she deserves. Pippa loves being with her person and comes happily when called. Once bonded with her person, she will be a faithful and loving companion. Pippa learns quickly and is affectionate and sensitive . She has been exposed to and likes children and can live with a cat after she gets to know it. If she is to have a canine friend, she would have to be given time get to know him/her. She has been so busy with babies, she has not had time to develop other canine friendships. Pippa is up to date on shots and will be spayed mid August. For more information on Pippa, please email email@example.com. Please note, WAAAG does a home visit prior to adoption after an application has been completed and approved. We adopt only to families living 100 miles or less from our rescue located in Delaplane, VA. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-01-00588Jake (male)
Jake, Adult Male, 67 pounds, Richmond VA JAKE IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND, VA AREA. PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE WWW.MOMSRESCUEVA.ORG. Hi there! I'm Jake and I would really like to find a person or family that wants to be my very best friend and help me experience the world. I'm happy all the time and just love walks and rides and going places. My first person moved around a lot so he thought I would be happier at a farm. But, believe it or not, I really didn't have many adventures on that farm either (which is how I put on these few extra pounds). I'm really smart and like to use my brain to take in new things. I get VERY excited when I see a leash because it means a new adventure! But I'm not what you may call 'high-maintenance.' When I'm at home I'm happy just to hang out. I get along fine with other dogs and all kinds of people. I really like to fit in with the group and my foster mom calls me 'sweet.' If you would like to show me your world, go to MOMSVA.ORG and fill out the form to see if I'm the perfect match for you! (Less)

Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
