Rescue Me ID: 17-02-13-00110Little George (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Little George is super sweet and loving. He is a great size to be an inside dog. The only reason we are trying to find LG a home is because we had to move and can't take him w/ us. His teeth are not in great shape but he eats just fine hard or soft food. He is used to being around all sizes of dogs and can also be around cats once he gets to know them and likes women, men and kids. Please consider giving this sweet boy a forever home.

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-14-00087Cali (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

I want to start off by saying Cali is a great dog. Cali LOVES car rides and snuggles! She loves to play and we have. Even working on jogs that she loves. She will be by your side showing you what compassion really is. I want her to have what is best for her. Sometimes she will chase her tail and it's hilarious. She will be 2 the end of April. She is up-to date on shots and rabies vaccination is not due until October. She is spayed and extremely lovable. Cali loves people and attention. Playing fetch is one of her favorite hobbies. Upon taking her in we discovered that she suffers from separation anxiety. Unfortunately with working and ... (Read More)running errands we cannot help in this category because there is a lot of work to be done to help her break this problem. Cali knows how to (but may needs extra training with); -Sit -Shake -Lay Down -Stay -Good on leash -Potty trained The ideal adopter must provide; -Time to help and train with her separation anxiety. We have tried putting her in the bathroom but she tends to start scratching so we purchased a gated crate. She enjoys laying in her crate when we leave it open during the day and will get in no problem but once you leave she will start to whine and howl. -Time to train her with socialization with humans. She loves people but tends to jump on people when she gets excited. If she gets ignored by other people she will start to bark thinking that will get her the attention she wants. -Time to train her with socialization with other dogs. From what I have seen she is just a very curious dog. She does not seem aggressive yet she will bark at other dogs and try to pull towards them. Her tail will wag but as she gets close she gets a little scared. When she does meet them she is very slow at socializing but then she wants to jump and play so being around smaller dogs may cause a problem. -Time to train on her excessive barking, we have come a long way with this but some work still needs to be done. -Preferably someone who works at home or is stay at home to help with her separation anxiety, she really needs attention and progress will take some time! -Someone who has a yard where she can be let out to roam, she loves being outside and sniffing around. Australian Shepherds needs a lot of exercise! When adopting Cali the adopter will be provided with; -Cali's food (almost a full 6 pound bag of Rachel Ray beef and rice dry food) -Water and food dish -Toys -Treats and bones -Her quilt -Gated Crate -Collar, harness, and leash -Bed There is a rehoming fee of $150 NEG to a good home We would like to bring her ourselves to your home to make sure she is comfortable and taken into a safe environment. Also if you are the ideal adopter we would like to go over the commands she listens to and what has worked for us so far. Only serious adopters please. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-27-00619Remmi (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Vaccinations Current

Remmi is unlike any dog I know. He is wicked smart like an Australian Shepherd and pulls weight like a Greater Swiss Mountain dog. House trained. Knows: sit, lay down, speak, stay. He loves hiking/swimming but also being lazy. Remmi is a alpha male. He loves other dogs but will always the the dominant one. He plays well with older kids, he is just not good with young ones because he is too alpha. He has an obedience problem. He isn't aggressive unless you are disciplining him. He growls to show his dominance. An ideal home is somewhere he can run all the time with other dogs, and have little discipline. Only to a good home and an ... (Read More)owner who can work with his dominance. (Less)

Personality: High Energy, Submissive

Morgan is a super sweet, super smart, super loving girl. She knows basic commands and is working on tricks like roll over. She is the best car buddy in the world. I hate to think of rehoming her but I have new neighbors with cows and chickens that keep breaking out and getting hurt and Morgan is getting blamed for it. They have said if they see her any where near their cows or chickens she is going to get shot. I can't keep her locked up all day, it is making her crazy. She needs some where with a high fence and active kids. NO LIVESTOCK animals - if it runs she is going to chase it down. Period. Just being honest. If you have cats that ... (Read More)don't run, no problem. Cat's that run - Morgan is not the dog for you. I love her to death and this is killing me. (Less)

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost South Carolina Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Aussies can be trained to perform tricks. Aussies are often used by police for narcotics detection. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
