Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

This hard-to-resist fluffy nugget is the one and only Leia! Leia and her littermates (and mom, Darla) originally came to Dog Town as young nursing puppies and were adopted out. Fastforward a few months and unfortunately it just was not the right match with her family, so Leia is back at Dog Town, looking for her forever home. Leia was much loved in her former home, but unfortunately as she grew (and grew she did as she is now around 35 lbs at 5 months old) she started to display some anxieties and fear issues that has the family a bit concerned about the younger kids in the home. And while it is true that Leia can be fearful and insecure ... (Read More)with some new people and places she is also super smart and full of potential. Leia is crate trained, doing well with her house training and loves other dogs. She has also happily lived with cats (and may want to try and play with them but is friendly towards her feline friends). She knows commands such as sit and come, is working on down and stay. She is eager to please people she has bonded with (and a few treats never hurt!). **Leia would do best in a home with no children or experienced children 12 and up. We have reduced her adoption fee, as any potential new families must have an approved formal training plan set up for her and/or an approved trainer to work with** (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-18-00395Blue (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Blue is a great dog. Very loving, but needs attention that we are not able to give. We don't want to just drop him off at the humane league. We would like to find a good home for him. My wife took him in from a coworker and we quickly found out he was abused by a male. He was deathly afraid of me for weeks until he knew I wouldn't hurt him. Here is the kicker.... we can't find a way to keep him from marking the house. We don't have the time or money to train him. So we're hoping to find someone that will. Along with that we want to know he's loved. He's a great dog, but we have to let him go.
