Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

PLAYFUL PEYTON is a beautiful 8-10 week old (April 6) Aussie mix. She is a little shy, will be spayed, have age appropriate vaccines and be microchipped. Her tail is NOT bobbed. Peyton is a young puppy so she is good with everything. Since she is a young puppy she will need a family dedicated to house training and puppy manners. We would prefer her to go to a home with another canine playmate. Her adoption fee is $95.00 Peyton must have a fenced yard for protection. Animal ID: 1335Hopper (female)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hopper is looking for a very special home with a very special person willing to take her to scent trials and continue her scent work training. Hopper was born in an ASF foster home. She is a Double Merle and it was evident early on that she was deaf. We also believed in her early weeks that she could not see as she has star burst pupils. Foster mom had begun touch command training early on. At about 8 weeks of age foster mom-began to notice that late at night when it was dark and the light was dim she was seeming to follow the movement of her siblings so at 10 weeks she saw an eye specialist. He examined her and agreed she seemed to follow ... (Read More)some movement. So he started her on special eye drops to keep her pupils dilated so she could possibly see more. It did wonders for Hopper. Hopper can see hand motions, can follow a ball and knows touch commands as well. Hopper sees her eye doctor every six months and uses a special eye drop for one eye but overall is doing very well. Hopper was invited by two AKC judges to begin to learn scent work. So at three months of age she began to use her nose. She has continued her training in containers, interiors, exteriors and buried. She attended her first three day AKC Scent work trial at nine months of age. Hopper has become a social butterfly and loves going places, meeting people and using her nose. Hopper walks on leash, is crate trained, house trained, plays well with other dogs of all ages and sizes, and has cat friends as well. She is UTD on vaccines, on heartworm and flea and tick prevention, and is spayed and microchipped. Hopper will need a family that has a fenced yard so she can run and play and who understands she will always need her human to watch out for her safety. Hopper will need to always be on leash even just going to the car unless she is in the house or an enclosed fenced area and she will need her human to use caution when she is around dogs she doesn't know since she can't hear them or see as well to read their body language. Hopper would do best in a home with at least one other energetic playful younger dog. Would you consider making Hopper a part of your home and continuing her scent work. Hopper's adoption fee is $395 and she is available for adoption through Australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application (Less)

Animal ID: 1693Cutter (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cutter is an almost two year old Mini Blue Merle. He weighs about 22 pounds and is a mighty 22. He is ready to look for his new mom or dad that he can really bond with and become a special man in some families home. Cutter's number one thing in life is to play ball. He can jump three feet in the air and catch that tennis ball and he's happy to play ball for a long time. Cutter came to his foster mom having a really hard time with all the many changes and moves he had experienced. Cutter needed some time to just relax and take life easy. Cutter took awhile to realize that another dog could be a good thing in his life. He has now learned to ... (Read More)play with several female dogs. He can be selective in his male play mates. Cutter will probably do best in a home with one other female dog. It will be best if he meets his potential fur sister a few times before he makes his move to his new home. Cutter does fine with his cat mates. Cutter came to his foster mom with problems dealing with barriers, both crate doors and back doors . He has come so far. He still displays some occasional anxiety compared to his first days but has made remarkable progress and continues to improve. Cutter will need a very strong dog savvy human in his home. Cutter needs to know what's expected of him, have a clear routine, have strong boundaries and to know what is acceptable behavior to his human. When he's given this he makes great progress and can be a very happy boy. Because he is a hopping jumper and he is still learning his boundaries we don't recommend Cutter go to a home with small children. Teens might be ok. Cutter will not be able to make a long transport and will need his new family to meet him in OKC, OK. Cutter is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm and flea and tick prevention and is microchipped. If you think Cutter could be your ball buddy his adoption fee is $325 and he is available for adoption through Australianshepherdsdurever.org/adoption-application (Less)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

TERRIFIC TATER is the cutest 10 week old( March 25) mixed breed puppy. We are guessing he is either Boston or Boxer mixed with Catahoula or Aussie. Whatever he is mixed with makes him super adorable! He currently weighs about 10lbs. He is neutered, microchipped and has age appropriate vaccines. He is working on crate and potty training. He can use a doggy door. He loves playing and cuddling with the other dogs so we feel he would do best with another dog friend in the family. His adoption fee is $95.00 He must have a fenced yard for protection. To meet one of our dogs and possible adopt, please fill out this pre-adoption form so it can be ... Rescue Me ID: 18-05-13-00323Cash (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cash is a 3yr old male Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler. He is a very loving dog. He roams the house and the yard. He's a good protector. He loves to play fetch, do some tricks, play in the water and be loved on. He also loves herding our kids, which has become an issue. I understand that is their job and they are bred for herding which is great, just not for my younger kids. We have tried to stop his behavior but haven't had any success. He is very strong willed and will mainly listen to my husband. He has gotten to the point where if my kids are playing he runs up and nips at them which has turned into something between a nip and a bite ... (Read More)now. He is a wonderful dog but I am not willing to keep him and have my kids continue to get hurt from the dog doing what he does naturally. It's not fair for the kids or for him getting in trouble all the time. He is up to date on shots and has flea/tick prevention, he has not been neutered. He was heart worm tested last year and kept on prevention until winter. He has not started back on it yet. He was good with our cat before it died, but chases the neighbors cats if they come in our yard. He gets along with our old chihuahua and doesn't bother the neighboring dogs, even when they get out. Rescue Me ID: 18-05-09-00155Stella (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Abused/Neglected

I rescued Stella near LaFortune Park and the vet that I took her too thought she was about 1 to 1.5 years old but not sure. She is spayed but not microchipped per a vet because she has a small tattoo on her stomach. She weighs about 60 pounds and is good with my grandkids but she does get a little rough when she's playing...don't think she knows her strength. But I've taught her 'Easy' and she will calm down. She loves to be petted, ride in the car, and is house broken. She knows the commands, 'Sit', 'Shake', 'Down or Lay Down', ' Go Bye, Bye', etc. She hasn't mastered roll over yet. I could not keep her and had to take her to the ... (Read More)Broken Arrow Shelter, please contact them to adopt her. (Less)

Animal ID: 1785Kade (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kade is an almost two year old Black Tri Aussie with a beautiful tail with a white tip. He is a very happy and playful boy. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines and will have a microchip. Kade knows some basic commands and tries really hard to please. He still has the puppy excitement when he sees his person so wants to give hugs in the most playful way. We are working hard on not jumping on people and he's starting to get the idea that sit gets him lots of love and treats. He probably would be most successful in a home without small children but teenagers should be fine. At first he loved his crate as he saw that as his safe place but ... (Read More)now he prefers not to use it and just hang out in the house. He does really well uncrated in a room and doesn't chew or get into things. He will need continued experience going into a crate on command with feedings and treats in crate so he knows it's a great place when you ask. Kade is house trained. He needs a slower introduction to a new dog but once he's met them and is assured by his person all is well he's ready to go and play. His favorite toy is a deflated basket ball, so get ready to play ball. He has done well with the cats he has met. He can walk on a leash but still needs to learn to stay a little closer to his person so lots of walk stop treat and walk again is helping him to learn. A fenced yard with a tall fence will be necessary as he has jumped the four foot baby gate in the house so we don't want him jumping over outside if he's looking for his person. Kade would need his adopter to come meet him and take him home as past transport between foster homes was stressful for him and we'd like him to be comfortable with his new person and have a successful transition to his new family. Kade is being fostered in Oklahoma City OK If you think Kade would fit your family please fill out an application at http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application His adoption fee is $325 and all proceeds go towards future rescues. Australian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Zappa is a 2 year old Blue Merle Standard Aussie. He is the epitome of Velcro Aussie ٪ Zappa is still learning what being a dog is all about, so a dog friend around his size (between 30-50lbs) is ideal. He needs a human that can spend time with him. He is happy to hang out wherever you are. Zappa is a thinker. He's paying attention and surveys every thing. Zappa will require a special home with a dog savvy human who can continue to build his trust and stimulate his brain. No small children at this time but a calm respectful teen may be okay. He has a couple of things that it important his human family understands in working with him. His ... (Read More)foster mom would be happy to explain these more.
