Rescue Me ID: 15-07-01-00271Bubba (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Bubba is 10 years old and loves the outdoors! He would love to be a house dog but has always stayed outside, yet that doesn't stop him from enjoying lots of cuddles. He is not trained to work stock but enjoys running with horses and playing with all animals. Bubba is trained to walk on a leash without pulling or running and knows a few commands. He is great with cats and loves kids! Bubba was raised with his Border Collie brother Sparky, who is also 10 years old and up for adoption. Both boys have a pretty disheartening story as to why they need homes so please message me for more information.

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-22-00560Frankie (female)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Frankie was dropped off at our farm. She is very smart and really wants to work. We do not have the time or resources to train her, but feel she would make a great working dog. She is VERY energetic and needs training. She has not hurt our young cats, but will pick them up. I do not know how she would react if they scratched her. She gets along with our bigger dog, but not our jack russell. I think if she's the dominant, she is ok. She is sweet and craves attention but we cannot keep her.

Liam is what they call a minature australian shepherd. He is small and would make the perfect lap dog. He hasnt been socialized a lot so he is very timid. His perfect home would be an older couple where the house is quiet and he could be held all the time..He wants to be loved so bad. He loves to sit in your lap and likes to sleep with you. He is very easy to get along with, just gets scared. He does warm up you to but it takes him awhile...

Sis is one of three puppies I am trying to find forever homes for. Their mother was dumped at our house and we took her in. The father of the puppies is a purebred Australian Shepard. We are not certain what breed Mom is, but we think possibly Pointer and Pit mix. They have had lots of socializing with people and other dogs (We have English Setters) Sissie (Sister) is very loving , crate trained , mostly housebroken and working on basic commands. We are in Durant, but will gladly deliver Sam or his brother and/or sister to the North Dallas area or Oklahoma City.

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Oklahoma
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Oklahoma Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Aussies can be trained to perform tricks. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
