Animal ID: 1709Axle (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Axle is a completely lovely dog. He came to me one cold morning, having been saved from a local, rural shelter just hours before. He was lost and since nobody came for him, he was out of time. The rescue community pulled together and brought him to me. He got out of the car and happily followed me into the house. After taking care of business outside, we came in and I fed him some breakfast. Then he was out with another dog to run and play. He looked at me as though he knew his life had just been saved. He is friendly and affectionate without being needy or pushy. He will occasionally come and gently put his head in my lap (sometimes with ... (Read More)front legs too) for pets. He isn't fond of the crate (whines) but is rapidly getting better. He causes no trouble when he is loose in the house and I have no hesitation leaving him out of his crate. He has gotten on my bed a time or two. I say 'off' and he comes right down (like he KNOWS he isn't supposed to be there but thought he'd see if I'd permit it). His favorite spot is my window seat. He can rest and watch the world go by. He loves to play with the bigger dog and plays with my little Frenchies - no issues at all. He is even good with my puppies. He is obviously a house dog - leaves things alone, has learned about the doggy door (in about 10 minutes by following the other dog) and when he needs to go - he goes out. Most dogs who come to me have some sort of issues or fears or problems. This guy seems to just roll with the flow. He is happy and playful without being hyper. He would do well with other dogs including small dogs. He checked out my cat but not aggressively. He would be happy with long walks, cuddle with you - whatever is going on he'd be ready. He is affectionate, friendly and has good house manners. He does alert (bark) when people come or the cows get closer than they are supposed to. But he quiets quickly. Axle weighs about 40 pounds and we are guessing his age to be between 2 and 4 years old Axle is going to make some lucky family a GREAT pet and companion. If you think that Axle would be a fit for your family please fill out an application at http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application His adoption fee will be $325 and all proceeds go towards future rescues. Animal ID: 1533Raley (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Raley, fostered near Oklahoma City, is ready for her home. Raley is an 18 month old Aussie/ mix. She is 60# and may be mixed with Anatolian Shepherd. She is a beautiful dog who came to ASF malnourished and ill. But after treatment and lots of love, she is ready for her forever home. Raley is a very affectionate dog and loves to be with you. She would really like to be a lap-puppy. She is a soft, gentle dog who is gaining more confidence. She is fearful of new experiences, objects and some new people. If people are calm and confident, she picks up on their security and accepts new experiences more quickly. She's made great ... (Read More)improvements in her foster home, but will need a calm family who understands her concerns and will continue to work to build her confidence, while slowly and gradually introducing her to new things. She is a true Velcro dog, never wants to leave her person's side. She'll follow you everywhere! She is good with other dogs, both big and small. She is respectful to small dogs and in her foster home, she thinks she is supposed to take care of them. She even allows them in her crate with her. She does alert when people come up and lets her foster mom know when one of the cows wanders into the yard. She even taught her foster siblings how to howl at the fire truck siren. She has learned a number of commands including Leave it (NO you cannot have my food), Crate, Outside and Come. She walks well on a leash, is crate trained and house trained. Raley is a darling dog. She is good in the house - doesn't bother things on the counters or tables, is gentle with her toys and with the other dogs . It will take her time to get acclimated to her new environment and all the new things in her new area. She is not a trusting soul in the beginning - when she trusts you all is well. Raley is white with reddish spots and the hint of a black mask. She weighs about 60 pounds, and is about 25' at the shoulder. Her coat is medium length, soft and shiny. She is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and looking for her forever home. If you think that Raley would be a fit for your family please fill out an application at http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Her adoption fee will be $295 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-02-06-00230Snoopy (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Snoopy has been waiting a long time. He loves swimming in the pond, going for long walks, or just laying around being a dog. He displays herding behavior with other dogs, so a meet with your dog would be required, or a single dog home would be ideal. He is a lover of people, but as a herding breed, we would prefer a family with children over the age of 8 years old. Snoopy just wants to be part of a family again, he just needs a chance to show his wonderful sweet loving nature!

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-21-00377Wrangler (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Wrangler is a pretty good dog. He loves people, absolutely adores kids. But he doesn't realize how strong he is and will accidentally knock them down. He has a high prey drive, will attack cats and will kill any kind of bird, so it'd be best if he stayed away from those. He's crate trained and house broke, and will stay in a fenced yard without any digging and/or jumping the fence. He does need some obedience work. We weren't originally going to keep him, so I think it'd be best if he goes to a home that can spend time working and playing with him.
