|Rescue Me ID: 16-08-03-00400Sherlock (male)|
Well, unfortunately it didn't work out for Sherlock, as he didn't get along with the other Aussie, so I have to list him again. He's approximately 2.5 - 3 years old, neutered, and up-to-date on all shots, plus flea/tick/heart-worm medicine. I originally acquired him from the Animal Shelter, so the actual age isn't quite known. He is an incredibly intelligent dog that enjoys walking loose-leash and will keep walking till you're done (and then still want to run some more). He loves to play fetch with the toys, but enjoys the game of keep-away more until you act like you aren't playing anymore then he brings the toy back. Will lay down at your feet or on a cool floor rather than try to jump in your lap, but also likes a cozy spot on the couch. Training wise, he knows sit, stay, down (lay-down), out. After the initial 5 minutes of excitement when new people come over, he calms down and goes lays down. He wants to be in fairly close proximity of a person and will lay down close to you when you're working to keep you in sight. If you get up to do something, he gets up and goes with you. He's had one toy for over a year and half now, so he's not destructive with toys - however once a toy has the filling exposed, it probably won't last long. The bad: he has separation anxiety that I cannot get him past. I have also not been able to crate train him because he's escaped 3 times from the cage. He definitely doesn't like to be confined, so I have to fast-track him through the groomers. He can get along with larger dogs given some assistance, but initially doesn't like them. He does fine with similar sized or smaller dogs. Very cat-aggressive. He's also a jumper and has no problem jumping on counter tops, or the dryer (but doesn't do it when I'm at home). I know with some training and a bit more time than I can currently provide, he'll be an amazing pet. I just refuse to take him back to a shelter where he may get put down if they cannot find a new owner. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-05-22-00011Boba (male)|
Boba and his brother, Jango, look almost identical. We think they are Golden Retriever/Aussie mixes. Their sister, Leia, looks a lot like them only a she is a little smaller. They are very friendly and playful and are very loved by their foster family. Their adoption fee (adoption fee, transport fee, and health cert fee are included) is $500. He is NOT in Ohio due to the lack of fosters in the area. He is currently in TX. If you would consider adopting this dog from Transport then please email us. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog!! The adoption fee includes the transport fee and health certificate and we transport dogs to the New England area every two weeks. (Less)

Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
