Hi my name is Mancha and I was taken in as a stray when my foster mommy found me dirty, stinky and very malnourished. I was so frightened when my foster mom trapped me with a leash that I played dead the entire 8 block walk home from the burrito place. My foster mom actually thought she gave me a heart attack for a second! With a little bit of time I went from being scared and confused to being a mama's girl! I now think that I am a princess and should be treated accordingly! I like having a fur siblings but not as many as I do now! I am extremely loving to my foster mom and her whole family, including her niece and nephew, however I must be ... (Read More)properly introduced to strangers and guests. I must be adopted out to an owner that understands that I have a complicated past and is willing to take the necessary steps to ensure I won't be put into any compromising situations! The thing is I am timid and I need some help working on my confidence. If you are into things like training or agility I think my confidence could soar. Just put in the work with me because I want to come out of my shell and trust. I am good with dogs, cats and kids (when introduced properly). I am a terrier mix and am about 3 years old and weigh 25 pounds. I am up-to-date on shots, micro-chipped and spayed! If anyone is interested in offering me a second chance please contact the Franklin County Humane Society or my foster mom at Leh4101@gmail.com or (919) 906-7691! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-17-00751Pep (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pep is a gorgeous, 6-8 year old, male Aussie. He was owner surrender to Rowan County Animal Control because he was getting older, and he had some benign tumors that needed to be removed. He was pulled by the Halfway House on his last day before he was euthanized. The Halfway House Rescue had all of his tumors removed, and all of them are benign, and are gone! He was been groomed, and is all ready for his forever home. He is fully vetted, neutered, and HW negative. He absolutely loves kitties, and will snuggle up with them for a good nap. Pep has a tendency to ignore other dogs, and would definitely do best in a home with no dogs or calmer ... (Read More)dogs, because he is very, very calm. He would not do well in a home with a wild puppy or younger dog. He is good on a leash, and he really prefers to sleep in the bed with his humans... but a nice fluffy dog bed will do (he guesses). Pep is such a great dog, and he is so deserving of a loving home. He is house trained, crate trained, snuggle trained, and ready for his new forever. ABOUT THE HALFWAY HOUSE FOR ANIMALS OF NC: We are a foster based rescue out of Salisbury, NC that predominately pulls animals on their last day before euthanasia from Rowan County Animal Control. Each dog is/will be fully vetted, UTD on shots, spayed/neutered and ready to be incorporated into a new home. Adopters will be subject to an application, a home visit (local) or virtual visit (out-of-state), an adoption fee, personal and vet references, and a short phone interview. Please inquire by email to put in an application for our sweethearts today! Thank you for taking the time to read about our dogs and rescue! (Less)

Great pet and family member. Followed me home one day while I was out strolling my daughter around the neighborhood and walking 5 other dogs on December 2nd 2013. He became my baby's best friend. This is so hard for me to do as we all love Buddy very much..my 18 month old daughter is learning to say his name..I'll ask her, 'want to go see the doggies?' She answers by saying 'Bud-dy,my Buddy?'..I'm looking for a very good home for this pet..He's been around 3 chihuahuas and his own offspring. He ...     Buddy belonged to my father who passed away September 2014. He is a very loving dog and requires that love back. He just wants to be loved and played with. Buddy was a stray so we are not sure if he is full blooded. Right now, he is getting fed but no one lives on the property and my sister who has moved to an apartment that cannot have dogs is going by to feed and care for him. If we cannot find a home soon, we will have to take to the shelter. He's very good with children and adults alike. He appears to be very healthy.

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered

This dog is available for adoption, or to a rescue. I have a 8yr old Australian Shepard who was rescued 7 years ago from a high kill shelter. This dog has been loved for the last 7yrs by a couple. When they adopted him the shelter said they were the 4th family to adopt him. After adopting him he had busted through their glass door, chewed every wire in the house, and more. As he got older this behavior has been better. They tried crating him once, but he flipped the crate over and chewed their couch, so they never crated him again. I currently have him crated in my garage right now and he is doing fine. This past year they decided to get him ... (Read More)a doggy door. He has done great with it for months. Then issues started happening again. The couple had a 4ft chain linked fence and the dog (Bruce) decided he wanted out so he chewed through the fence. His mom came home and found him walking down the road. His dad had fixed the fence..... the next day he jumped the fence. It got to the point where he would jump the fence even if they were in the yard with him. They had heard about a heavy duty fence that he wouldnt be able to jump. So this past weekend they spent over $1,000 on this 6ft heavy duty fence and put cinder blocks around the fence. The fence was 40ft, and put inside of their 4ft fence. This morning he chewed his way out. I have suggested anxiety medications, or a shock collar. But they said they cannot afford to spend any money. Some had also mentioned a professional trainer. Bruce did have previous training at petsmart that did not work. He even had private lessons. The couple believes nothing can be done for him, but I dont agree. They called me crying this morning saying they were going to euthanize him this morning because they didn't want to put him through any more stress. Plus they didn't think anyone would do anything for him that they haven't tried. I believe with professional training, and anxiety meds he could be better! Need less to say I couldn't see Bruce euthanized, ao now he is under my care. I am re homing Bruce for the family. He is 8 years old, up to date on all shots, neutered, gets along well with most dogs (loves the doggie park). Does not need to go to a home that owns cats. Needs a female owner. He usually does not like most men, as we think he might have been abused by a male in his past. If you are interested in Bruce please contact me by email, or phone. He needs to go to a house that has a nice fenced in back yard. It also needs to have a hot wire ran across the bottom, or you need to have an electric fence for him. It would be great if there was a stay at home person with him all the time. He would probably do well in a house with children too. The family needs to be very active, or provide enough exercise for Bruce. If you are interested please contact me to meet him. He come with all his records, toys, leash, harness, bowls, food, bandannas, and more. There will be a small rehoming fee, and I will want to meet you and do a home check.
