Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

4/27/16 I just made my jailbreak from the local shelter today. Foster mom said that I reminded her so much of one of her dogs that she just could not let me stay in the loud place any longer. I am so glad she couldn't because that meant I get to sleep in a quiet home tonight! Well it really isn't that quiet because there are other dogs, cats, and small children. But I don't even mind all that because I am just so happy to be free! I have already made friends with the other dogs and they are teaching me how to play which is really nice. I have already spent some time snuggling with one of the resident kitties and I think I have thoroughly ... (Read More)bathed all of the kids faces. I REALLY love my foster daddy. I will roll over and beg for belly rubs from him. Foster mom said I walk really well on the leash already and am great at meeting other dogs while on leash too. I really am just a happy go lucky girl. So far, I have not had any accidents in the house but time will tell really if I am already house trained or not. Mama already got me all up to date on my shots and microchipped me too! I was such a good girl and never even flinched. My tail wagged the whole time! I will be getting spayed soon. Foster mom also mentioned something about 'heartworms'. She said that I have them but she also promised me that she would make sure that I got all better for my forever family. I don't really feel sick so I am not sure what they are but foster mom seems to know what she is talking about. Her name is Jessica and you can email her at fchsjess@gmail.com if you have any questions about me. My adoption fee will be $225. Applications can be filled out at www.fchsnc.org/adoptable-dogs 4/28/16 I think it is fairly safe to say that I am housetrained! Foster mama let me sleep in her room last night with the other dogs and I did not have any accidents! She even left me loose in the house while she ran errands this morning and the house is still clean and all the kid's toys are still unchewed too. Australian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Marshall is a gorgeous boy with a difficult past. He was found abandoned on a road with food waiting for his owners who never came back for him. He was taken in by a local rescue who worked with him through food, dog, and cat aggression. After several months of rehabilitation, he was turned over to Australian Shepherds Furever for adoption. Marshall has made improvements by leaps and bounds! His current foster mom says Marshall has NOT shown any aggression towards her other dogs nor her 2 cats and has exhibited no food or treat aggression. He is a sweet boy who loves positive attention and affection, playing with his foster dog siblings, ... (Read More)food, treats, and long walks. He really loves playing with his foster mom by chomping on her with love bites. He is learning to be more gentle when playing with people as a result. Those love bites can be hurt a bit! But he makes up with kisses and cuddling. He is a bundle of love and energy. And like a typical Aussie, wants to be at his foster's side all the time and know what she is doing. You never know, she may have food for him because Marshall loves food about as much and maybe more than pettings and kisses. He walks well on a leash, knows a few basic commands, listens well when told 'no'. He is neutered and microchipped. He is available for immediate adoption. Animal ID: 2016-33Fancy (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Fancy is a beautiful dog with one blue eye and fur like a rabbit! She is an Aust shepherd mix and weighs 54lbs. Her coloring is faun and white. The date of birth that is recorded is 1/8/13. She has had all of her shots and is now a very healthy, happy girl! Fancy also has a chip. She will need to have one last test Aug, 1-16 to make sure she is heartworm negative. Her personality is very relaxed. She does not bark at people at the door nor does she bother with having to smell them! Fancy is also very quiet when she goes out in the yard and the dog run, in otherwords, not much barking! She has been thru a lot. Heartworm, whipworm ... (Read More)treatments and a UTI infection not to mention she was spayed on 1/13/16. During this difficult time she remained calm, relaxed and the vets fell in love with her. She even let me cut the fur from each of her paws!!! Fancy likes to play with other dogs as well. (I have not had her around children but I am pretty confident she would get along well with them). She enjoys riding in the car as well. Fancy would be a wonderful companion to someone who works part time or not at all. She loves lots of attention and petting! When I first received Fancy to foster her she did chew a few things and had a few accidents. She is doing much better about those issues. She likes her bones a lot. She will become very attached to you and wants to be wherever you are! One night there was a loud noise, something fell...she came running into the bedroom to see if I was ok! I'm not going to lie, she does not favor the kennel, however, she will go in it with a treat. I have only had her in there a few times. I found nothing wrong when I returned home. I always found her sleeping and very happy to see me when I returned. She was not alone for the first week because we had snow so I think we were able to establish a good relationship before I starting leaving the house on a regular basis. Fancy will let me give her a bath but does try to get out a couple of times. She is shy and peaceful. She enjoys being in the house and she seems to like the quiet as much as I do! She is a fantastic dog and great lover girl! She will return all the love and kindness you can give her. She has been a little spoiled by me but she deserves the very best! Jesse has a very strong herding instinct which makes him unsuitable to be with our poultry, livestock,& horses. Before we got him 6 weeks shine had been chained for approx 18 months with limited human contact; to say he is attention starved is an understatement. He loves to be pet, rubbed, & give kisses but he doesn't know when to quit. The $75 dollar adoption fee is refundable with proof of vaccines & neutering. Please email or call for more info. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-20-00504Sadie (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Hi there! Are you looking for a devoted and sweet girl to call your own? How about one who is highly intelligent and treat motivated? I bet you would like a more mature lady who knows how to sit, lay down, and stay too! If that is the case, you have come to the right profile! My name is Sadie and I am a ball of love packaged in an almost 4 year old Australian shepherd mix body! I love affection and will gladly roll over if you promise me some belly rubs! I am very loyal to my people and want to make sure they are safe from any danger so I may try to protect them from strange new dogs. However, that doesn't mean that I have to be an only ... (Read More)dog, only that I am dog selective so I would have to be tested with any dog that already lives in my forever home. The reason I say this is because I am best buddies with my foster brother Maxx and when I am with him you would never know that some dogs and I do not get along. I am a little too interested in kitties to be trusted with them and would prefer not to have to share a home with them. They look like tasty little squeaky toys running around and I want to play with them! However, even that may be something that could be overcome since there have been cats I have been introduced to that when they swat at me I run away! I have a lot of playful energy still and would love to have an active home who can exercise me the way I need. You see Aussies have a lot of energy and when they don't get to burn it all off we sometimes gain weight. I am currently packing a little extra love but I am losing it well with proper diet and exercise and it doesn't slow me down one bit! I already know basic obedience commands like sit and down so maybe a home that will do some extra fun little things with me would be a good thing. I am extremely treat motivated so I know it would not be hard to teach me new tricks. I would be happy even with a family who could take me on long walks or running with them. I walk well on the leash but can be a little nervous if other dogs come into my bubble because I can't get away. I will need a home that will be patient with me and help me work through it! I know it can be done! I am completely house trained and crate trained like a good girl. All I want is to find a home that will let me doze on the couch with them, or if not on the couch at least at their feet! All I have to offer is a loyal and true heart bursting with love, but I think that will be enough. My adoption fee is $200 and I am already spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. I am all ready to go to my forever home as soon as they find me! Could it be you? If so, fill out an adoption application at www.fchsnc.org/adoptable -dogs and let's get the ball rolling on bringing me home! If you have any questions, my foster dad would be happy to tell you all about me. You can reach him at deugs@frontier.com, his name is Gary! I hope to hear from you soon! Love, Sadie (Less)

Liver and white Aussie needs a job! Extremely smart but needs training and discipline. Good dog for someone who has the time and energy. Loyal to owner, but does not like strangers. Very sensitive and reacts to people that he fears or he feels may be threatening to owner. If you are a dog lover and understand the Aussie breed, Wade would make you a great companion.

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost North Carolina Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
