Rescue Me ID: 15-05-22-00120Bandit (male)
Bandit is an adorable Mini Aussie that just arrived at our shelter! His owner brought him to us and before we had a chance to talk to her, she put him in our entry room and drove away, leaving him there alone and scared. This poor boy didn't have a clue what happened or why his family didn't love him anymore. After a week at our shelter, he is finally starting to come out of his shell and show us what a wonderful dog he truly is! He is very sweet and needs a kind and patient family that will give him time to blossom into the wonderful dog he truly is! He is very dog friendly, and would probably do best in a home with another dog that will make him more comfortable in a new home. He is very gentle so he could possible live with kids, but they would need to be calm and relaxed so that he can feel comfortable. For more information on how to adopt Bandit, please call (914)-273-1674 or go online www.adopt-a-dog.org If you would like to fill out our adoption application, please go to https://goo.gl/oUcqxk (Less)

Animal ID: 0272Sadie (female)
From the foster: Introducing the awesome Sadie! 2 years young and has been with me a week. Sadie is a laid back gal and loves everyone. She is good about staying off furniture except my bed. She visits for a while and then sleeps in her crate. She doesn't shed much and likes to be combed. Great with children, the kids lay right next to her and hug her, she loves attention. Visited the vet and was given a super bill of health, she is #55 and was told she had beautiful teeth. She is living with a Large doodle and small Boston, they all tolerate each other fine. We also have a cat and he will lay right next to him at the front door. Sadie loves crunchy treats and peanut butter stuffed in a marrow bone. She shows no aggression and will give you whatever she has if you ask her for it. Walks very nicely on a leash. Sadie is a beautiful young lady that will make a family very happy. http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.com/adoptionapplication.php (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-10-00288Diamond (female)
Diamond's Story... Diamond is a pretty, little shepherd mix dog. Estimated at 6 years old, Diamond was surrendered to a shelter by her original owner, but has been beautifully cared for. She is so sprite and lively with her clear and shiny brown eyes. Diamond is very healthy and quite well nourished. Diamond walks well on the leash, does her business on the way and will sit on command. Diamond loves to be pet and knows her name well, she will come right away when called. She is good with children and strangers and did live at some point with other dogs. Diamond is a darling little dog at about 43 lbs, and fox-like. Diamond is up-to-date on shots, microchipped, spayed, housebroken, and waiting for a wonderful home. For more information on Diamond, please contact Lisa at Rising Dove Rescue 917-214-6989 or email: email@example.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-30-00345Tyson (male)
Tyson is a great boy! We had him since a puppy and he is just over 2 years old now. He is great with all dogs and people alike. He loves kids also. He is very affection, and does not have that neurotic aussie behavior that is usually normal for the breed. He will lay around all day with you or play as much as you would like. Tyson is happy just being with us as much as possible. He knows commands - sit, down, wait, leave it, drop, come, shake, high five. Tyson was diagnosed with Addisons disease so he does need medication every day for the rest of his life. He is a great dog and so loving. Please serious inquires only!

I unfortunately have very bad allergies even though I'm an animal lover but the amount of hair that is involved with these breeds I just can't handle I tried to find nick a home but didn't work out. He is a great lovable dog whom loves kids and attention.

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-13-00509Brady (male)
Handsome, loving, and looking for a FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME up north. My name is Brady, and I'm a 3 year old Aussie mix who weighs 48lbs. I'm a gentle, affectionate, and gorgeous (Yes, I have 2 different colored eyes!) boy who loves attention from my people. I get along very well with everyone who comes my way, including other dogs and kids (there are several children in my foster home). I'm not housebroken yet, but my foster mom says it shouldn't be hard because I am super smart. I love playing with other dogs, even if I do try to herd them when we're outside! I definitely need a home with a fenced yard so I can safely run and play. No cats please. I'm also neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. My adoption fee is $375. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-22-00556Rocky Duffy (male)
Whew! We sure were getting low on dogs! Thankfully, the Williams family from Randolph, who has adopted two dogs from us, had made a donation a few weeks prior to sponsor a trip south! And Thelma and Louise said they were ready for a road trip! Alright, so I made that up, it was really Susan and Eileen who were the road ready warriors They jumped in their minivan and headed to West Virginia bringing back 18 wonderful dogs and puppies that had ended up in a high kill shelter. This shelter tries very hard to get the dogs out before their 'time is up'. We receive several emails a day begging for our help, so glad we could make this journey. Thank you for choosing to rescue. Rocky was born about February 24, 2011 and weighs about 75 lbs. He is one gorgeous boy that is happy, social, loving and great with other dogs. Rocky is one big, fluffy, teddy bear like dog and someone is going to adore running their fingers through that amazing fur! However, along with the gorgeous coat comes shedding and grooming needs. Please be sure you are in for the long haul with this guy and don't get carried away by his pretty face and forget about the fur factor. He did well on his long car ride here. (Less)

Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
