TO APPLY TO ADOPT THIS ANIMAL, PLEASE VISIT WWW.SAFEATLAST.NET. Meet Sydney, who came to us all the way from Ohio, along with siblings Taz, Kiwi and Adelaide. These babies are terrier/aussie mixes, and a cuter, sweeter bunch of pups you could not find. All of these babies are extremely loving, social, and people-oriented. While all of them LOVE to cuddle with their people, Sydney is particularly lovie... As we think you can see from his pictures, this boy is a TOTAL love muffin. He puts his little arms up to you and could not be more content than to be held and carried around in your arms or snuggle in your lap. He is a total ... (Read More)snuggle-bug. If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to one of these babies for his/her whole life, please register on our website (www.safeatlast.net). When you receive your password, log back on to the website to complete the online adoption application (under Forms/Applications on the lefthand side of the homepage). Once we have your application, a volunteer will be in touch by email to commence the review process. (So, please check your filters and your spam!) Our process is very straightforward, but it does involve a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $300, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply. If you have any questions, please email us at info@safeatlast.net. We are happy to assist. Please understand that you cannot meet the pups until you have completed the online adoption application and been approved for adoption. Thank you for wanting to welcome a rescue pup into your family and for helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time. (Less)

Sweet Tosh was a victim of an acrimonious divorce. Neither party would give the other custody of him, so they compromised by surrendering him to the neighborhood shelter. A shelter severely underfunded and very overcrowded. Tosh is only six and has a cataract in one eye, but can see just fine. He is not doing well in the shelter AT ALL.. Everytime he is walked by a volunteer and put back in his cage, he slumps in a corner and doesn't move. He becomes extremely attached to his people, which is why we think he should be the only pet in the household. He wants all of the attention and will curl in your lap all day long, if that's what you ... (Read More)want. He loves outside, he loves playing ball, he loves to go on walks... And being in his cage at the shelter all day long makes him very depressed... He has just been groomed and does have an allergy to Frontline. . He is happy, healthy, active, and extremely friendly... He should be placed in a family with older kids because he is active and little kids may be intimated by him.... Tosh loves belly rubs, snuggling next to his family, and will be a wonderful addition to an outdoorsy family that likes to play!!! Tosh is available for adoption at HI TOR Animal Care Center 65 Firemen's Memorial Drive in Pomona NY. If approved, transportation is available... (845)354-7900.. (Less)

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost New York Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Aussies can be trained to perform tricks. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
