Australian Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Kayla is a 8 year old, 65 pound Australian Shepherd. She is a loving girl. Loves to be where you are and will even cuddle up with your socks if you're not around. Kayla loves to run. At 9 months old she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both hips. She had TPO surgery on both hips 6 weeks apart and did amazing with her rehab. She got new hips and hasn't stopped running since. She also loves to swim thanks to the rehab she went though. It is probably her favorite activity. She will go until you tell her to stop. She is kennel trained and will go inside anytime you say 'kennel'. She will also use the ' restroom' when you say 'be quick' which ... (Read More)comes in handy on cold winter morings. She loves car rides and sticking her head out the window to take in all the awesome smells of the world. Kayla is one big sweet heart and will love to be someone's big lap dog. We would like her to go to a home with her brother and litter mate Kodo. They have been together their whole life and get very depressed when separated. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-16-00623Kodo (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kodo is a 8 year old, 69 pound male purebred Australian Shepherd. He is one big loving goof ball. And you can't help but smile when you look at those big blue eyes. Kodo loves to tell you how his day was when you get home. He has fun playing with other dogs but usually just runs in a circle around them. He is kennel trained and will go inside it anytime you say the word kennel. He gets board when home alone and will get into things he shouldn't. Does best in his kennel when you are away. Also will use the 'restroom' when you tell him to 'be quick'. Kodo loves to swim even though he seems like a big chicken at first once he gets in he loves ... (Read More)to fetch his toys you throw for him. Is a great car traveler. Will sleep most the drive. But he loves when you are off the highway so he can stick his big head out the window so his ears and tongue can flap in the wind. Is good with kids and other dogs. Would do best in a home with older kids as he forgets just how big he is when he plays. Would like him to be adopted with his sister and litter mate Kayla. They have been together their whole life and get very depressed when separated. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-18-00345Pepper (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pepper is an awesome, high energy dog who will need a yard and someone to play with. He can be dominant and will growl at strangers and nip if provoked. He is house broken and knows sit, shake and wait. He will need to be trained on not pulling on his lead and not mouthing. I am looking for an open adoption that I can check in on Pepper occasionally and also an agreement that if the new owner decides they do not want to keep the dog he would be returned to me. Please contact me if you would like more information.

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Here's a picture of Pudge. she is a cattle dog of some type. I think she has some Aussie in her. She's very smart and rambunctious. She is less than a year old and she's ready for a good home. I rescued her from death row in San Bernardino back in November, 2012, I think. It could have been October. She gets along well with other dogs with proper introduction, but she is a little overbearing for a little girl. She's looking for her forever home and I hope that it's you. $250 to adopt or $500 to adopt and delivery to anywhere within 500 miles of Vegas.

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Nevada
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Nevada if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Nevada Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Aussies are often used by police for narcotics detection. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
