Rescue Me ID: 15-08-31-00505Rudy (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rudy is a sweet, devoted, and energetic dog. He is about 6 years old. He may be a purebred Australian Shepherd but as we are his second home we can't say that for sure.. but he sure looks like one! He will be your constant companion and little shadow wherever you go. He is great with all dogs and cats. He is always curious to meet new dogs and has never been aggressive to any dog. He is wonderful with cats (we have many cats!) and has been caught sleeping with and even giving our kitties a bath. He is very active and would thrive best in an active lifestyle where he is getting at least 1 hour of exercise per day. He must be in a ... (Read More)home with a fenced yard and will run off if he is off the leash! He is very eager to get out and see the world and he has so much energy! He is very subservient and will regard anyone who chooses to be his master as his dearest love! He idolizes his master and loves to be included in everything. He has only been house trained for a year, and may need some help remembering his manners at times. He is fully potty trained. He is loving and affectionate and loves to get a good scratch on his belly! He has been with our two grade school kids the last 2 years and has done fine, but still is pretty nervous and skittish around kids. He has never show aggression towards kids or people. He is pretty shy of strangers at first but will warm up over time as he gets used to new people. If you want a companion for your active lifestyle, Rudy is the one for you! (Less)

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Montana Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
