Rescue Me ID: 18-06-20-00462Gypsy (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Gypsy is a wonderful, kind, fully trained Aussie/BC mix who has only known a loving home. She lives with other dogs/cats and is great with them. She is a velcro dog, sticks with you off leash; loves having a job to do- carry in the mail; be with you during yard work, hikes, car rides, really anything that you are doing. Although she is wonderful with all humans, I would not recommend her to a home with small children as she may try to herd them. (She does not nip, only body blocks.) She belonged to a family member who could not care for her so I have had her the past two years. Gypsy has gorgeous blue eyes, is spayed, fully up to date on ... (Read More)all vaccines, heartworm, flea tick prevention, medium sized about 60 pounds. Optimum home=family members are around, or in and out during the day. She really loves her people and to be around them. If you have a farm, large property that you like to work on, or work from home, she would be the perfect companion. (Less)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Foster pup Ava is a beautiful 40 lb Beauceron Mix with Merle Markings. She is spayed and UTD. She is very sweet and loves to snuggle and will give kisses for belly rubs. She is housebroken. She does great with her foster brother who is medium sized and submissive. She is good with kids once she has been introduced and has time to settle in. She was an outside dog before being rescued by ASF. She loves to chew on her bones, toys and needs to be redirected from chewing on things she's not supposed to but she does correct well. She can jump over doggie gates. She is very cautious around men and it takes her awhile to warm up to them.I'm sure ... (Read More)she has good reason. She Likes to go on walks, but does get scared when meeting new people and dogs. Ava's ideal Furever home will need a fenced in backyard and someone who is home a lot and can patiently work with her and continue her obedience training. She is crate trained and is working on leash training. She loves being with you and currently sleeps in the bedroom either on the bed or on the floor by the bed. She does like to steal your shoes or her foster brother's toys and bones. She will make her new family a very loyal companion. Animal ID: 1477Thomas (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Thomas is a 6 year old tri-colored Australian Shepherd/Collie mix. He was found as a stray and rescued from a NC shelter by ASF in Oct. 2017. Thomas was in very rough shape at that time (extremely emaciated, anemic, etc.) but has come a long way since then! He is a very loving, goofy, 54 lb boy but he will need a home without cats where he can be an only dog. Thomas is up to date on shots and has been neutered. He is house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. Thomas does have a condition known as EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) which means he will always need powdered enzymes added to every meal, which his foster mom ... (Read More)says is very easy to do. If you are interested in Thomas, please fill out an application at: http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Adoption fee is $295 and all fees are used for future rescue efforts. Animal ID: 5954Nubbs (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Nubbs! Sadly, this sweet and smart girl found her way to a shelter in South Carolina. OPH scooped her up and she is ready for her forever home. She is a petite girl around 40-50 lbs thought to be a Retriever/Australian Shepherd Mix. Nubbs definitely displays some of the wonderful quirkiness of Aussies. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots, and fostered in Sykesville, MD. What we know about Nubbs: *A great age - she is about 4 years old *Crate trained - she is quiet in her crate *Good house manners - house trained and just wants to be near you *Intelligent - walks well on leash, knows sit and down *Great for adults - kids are loud ... (Read More)and a little scary *Excited about car rides - hops right in the car and gets comfy *Excellent pup for a low to medium energy single person, couple, or family with older children *Loyal and Eager to Please - She bonds very quickly to her family and just wants to be near you *Currently fostered with other smaller dogs. Prefers low-key submissive dogs as friends. *Cat uncertain- she isn't much of a chaser and would likely do fine with a cat, 'lived' with an outside cat previously **NOT recommended for families that live in apartments Note: Nubbs came to OPH worried about strangers. She continues to take some time to warm up. Once she knows you, she is in love. In her foster home, she loves being lazy, enjoys time in the backyard, and loves walks. She is working on building self confidence and would love an adopter to continue working with her on this. A little pack leadership and love will ensure a happy, long life together. We highly suggest additional training. Rescue Me ID: 18-04-22-00065Blue (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Extremely beautiful 3 year old Australian Sheppard and Husky mix (Husky was not a choice from the drop down menu so I chose unknown but she is part Husky). Takes her a few minutes with new people but then she loves you quickly and covers you in kisses! She is a great dog however she is very aggressive with other dogs. Was not at first but was bitten once as a puppy and now does not like other dogs at all. Blue is very high energy and needs a lot of room to run. Fenced in yard preferable. I simply do not have the room for her run. Vet told me that lack of exercise is also showing out as aggressive behavior. Good home only. Serious inquires ... (Read More)only! (Less)
