Rescue Me ID: 15-04-23-00592Seager - NH (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Seager Breed: Australian Shepherd/ Catahoula Mix Age: 1 year +/-; male Dogs: yes Cats: Unknown Kids: 10 + Crate Trained : Yes House Trained : Yes Location: New Hampshire Seager is a very sweet and energetic boy that is looking for his furever family. Seager LOVES to play with other dogs and would be very happy to be in a home with a K9 playmate that is similar in size/ energy level. Quick and agile, Seager would be a wonderful companion for an active family. He loves hiking and running around in the fenced yard at his foster home. Although Seager can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, he warms up quickly and has become ... (Read More)increasingly more comfortable with people in the time that he has spent with his foster family. When he is not outside playing, Seager loves to snuggle up on the couch with his friends, canine and human alike. Due to his very high energy level Seager would likely be best suited to a home that does not have children under the age of 10. Although he's extremely friendly, he is still working on his manners and could inadvertently overwhelm smaller children with his enthusiastic hugs and kisses. If you are interested in adopting Seager please email sln2310@yahoo.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. Seager's adoption donation is $350 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heart worm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-16-00593Dallas (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Handsome, just turned 5 year old dog in need of a loving home where there are no children or other dogs. We have had him since he was 4 months old and love him very much, but we are expecting child number 5 and can no longer keep him in a situation that makes his quality of life very stressful and puts the kids in danger of being bitten. He has never bitten anyone, but is growing increasingly more agitated around children. He deserves to be happy in a home with adults where he can cuddle and play ball and get the attention he deserves without all the added stress. He will make a great companion for the right home. Thank you!

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Maine
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Maine if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Maine Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
