Animal ID: Courtesy PostEzzie (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ezzie is a chocolate lab/Australian Shepherd mix. She is five years old. She is spayed. She is kennel and house trained. She knows the words 'sit', 'lay down', 'back up', 'outside', and 'eat'. She LOVES to play with a laser pointer, but she doesn't really care much for fetching or playing with any other toy. She does not do well with cats, at least from what I have seen, as she tries to chase the stray cats in the neighborhood. She also doesn't do well with chickens and she had killed a chicken before. She does well in a fenced back yard or on a boundary collar as she loves to roam. She is also a great escape artist. So the fence needs to be ... (Read More)secured. She does listen to come when called if she isn't distracted. She loves meeting new people, but she also likes to be by herself. She likes to just lay around and sleep. She also likes to go to the dog park and will play with other dogs, but it takes her a minute to get acclimated and used to the other dogs there. I think she would be fine in a multiple dog household, but her food cannot be left out as she will eat everything in sight. She will also try to eat other dogs' food if it's left out. In order to watch her weight, her food needs to be monitored. She loves to go on walks and she loves to be in the car. She is an inside dog and I would want her to go to a home where she can be inside as well. She will be up to date on shots as of Friday, April 20, 2018. She does shed. She is roughly 45 pounds. I will know exactly when I take her to the vet Friday. Any other questions, text or call my cell 270-752-0366. (Less)

Animal ID: Courtesy PostReaya (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Reaya is a blonde lab/Australian Shepherd mix. She is five years old. She is spayed. She is kennel and house trained. She knows the words 'sit', 'lay down', 'back up', 'outside', and 'eat'. She likes to play with a laser pointer, but she doesn't really care much for fetching or playing with any other toy. She mostly just likes to be pet constantly and she loves attention. She loves children. She does not do well with cats, at least from what I have seen, as she tried to chase the stray cats in the neighborhood. She hasn't actually been around a cat in the house or close proximity. She does well in a fenced back yard or on a boundary collar ... (Read More)as she loves to roam. She does listen to come when called if she isn't distracted. She is very loyal to her family, but she loves meeting new people as well. She doesn't necessarily like other dogs. If she and Ezzie are not adopted together, I would recommend her going to a one dog household. She does have some resource guarding against other dogs, but not towards people. She was the runt and I think it was hard for her to find food, so she gets nervous if other dogs are around her food. She will not really hurt them, but she will growl and snap at another dog if they are near her food. So, she would probably need an experienced owner who will be mindful of this behavior. She loves to go on walks and she loves to be in the car. She loves to be by her owners, so she won't be comfortable sleeping outside. She is an inside dog and I would want her to go to a home where she can be inside as well. She will be up to date on shots as of Friday, April 20, 2018. She does shed. She is roughly 45 pounds. Rescue Me ID: 18-04-04-00360Bella (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bella will be 3 years old in July, she is an Australian Shepard and Australian Cattle dog mix, her coat is red and white. She is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She can sometimes become aggressive and will bark at large unfamiliar dogs and will bark when she feels threatened. She is also kennel trained and prefers to sleep in the kennel at night. Bella can become aggressive to strangers that seem to pose a threat but does not become aggressive when visitors come to the house. She also has a heart condition that keeps her energy levels pretty low so she does not require to be walked that much. She can not do ... (Read More)too much physical activity at once. The vet we have gone to has given us medicine to make her comfortable and it seems to be working okay- she leads a happy life with her condition and could have many many years left in her to spend with the right person or family. Rescue Me ID: 18-04-01-00387SYDNEY (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

SYDNEY - This handsome guy came to the shelter in March and is ready for a new home. We think his age is 5+ years. Not sure about Sydney's previous home as he was brought tot he shelter by someone who said he came to his house but he kept him for 3 months. At the shelter Sydney gets along with other dogs and pretty much keeps to himself. He was very calm during the photo session. A little touch up grooming will make him ever more handsome.

The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
