Animal ID: 18-02-20-00314Hershey (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hershey is a 4-5 year old male that is super sweet and playful. He is a great dog that would need 30-60 minutes of exercise a day. Does not need a big yard, he prefers to be with people. Gets along well with other dogs. He does not do well with kids due to his nature of bonding with his owners, which is why I have to find him a new home. He does not like a crate, but he does well alone in the house. He also knows basic commands. A beautiful, loyal dog that would make someone very happy!

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-11-00058Sandy (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sandy and Maverick were mixed Australian shepherds from the same litter that my husband purchased two and a half years ago from a breeder in Kentucky. Both dogs are good natured, spayed and neutered, just received their rabies shots and new tags for Jefferson County (1-12-18) and receive monthly heartworm medication. The dogs receive very little attention and spend most of their day in crates in the house. They love to be walked (usually 2 times per week, together, in our neighborhood), and they love to run outside in our yard (contained by Invisible Fence). These dogs get very excited around new people but are never aggressive to humans. ... (Read More)These dogs are just not in the right home. I think they need more activity, more attention, more room to run, and they are getting none of these things in our home (Less)

Recently both Sandy and Maverick 'escaped' the yard because they did not have shock collars on and chased a dog being walked by his owner all the way to his home. We were told the dogs bit his dog, but I saw him the next day taking him for a walk, so I don't think they excessively hurt the other dog. These dogs are just not in the right home. I think they need more activity, more attention, more room to run, and they are getting none of these things in our home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-26-00384Rusty (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rusty came to our home in May of this year. He was in danger of going to the local shelter, as he was causing issues at his farm by nipping the horses' heels as his owners were riding. He is a loyal pet, however he does have a very dominant nature, and has made our little beagle afraid to eat. He is territorial around their food area, guarding her food from her. He has nipped two adult males, no issues around our children, but as he has fought with our beagle, they are somewhat afraid of him. We have tried all options available to us, short of medication and therapy. We have neutered, and tried exercising more frequently, neither have ... (Read More)seemed to help the over dominance. We were told Rusty is a purebred Aussie, however we do not have any proof of this, as such I am listing as a mixed breed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-12-00507Rascal (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Rascal is an amazing dog who loves and bonds with one person. He prefers women. He is very protective over his owner and will cuddle and wants to be right with that person. He loves belly rubs. He was abused and trust only women. Best if not around kids due to being over protective to the one he bonds with. He really is a love bug who needs someone to give him a chance to love them. I can do anything with him.
