Australian Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Red Merle Female Aussie with one brown eye and one blue eye, 8 years old. Good with other animals dogs, cats, etc. Is very loyal to family and is a good watchdog. She is not picky with food and has no health problems. She has been an outside dog but is house trained. She loves to please and get attention. She does not have chewing issues or similar vices. Her vice is she chases wheeled objects and tries to bite the tires. She can be intimidating to delivery people or similar strangers because she barks aggressively. She needs to be either indoors or in a fenced area. Underground electric fence does not work well for her as she can ... (Read More)go through and not be able to get back. She was vaccinated as a puppy and had one booster shot after the fact. I am unsure if she needs more. Please email me your contact info and I will call you as soon as I can. Thanks, Lance (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-13-00223Mercy (female)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Mercy is a high-energy dog requiring a secure, dig-proof fence. She has an ectopic ureter that causes her to leak urine constantly. She can wear a size 6 baby diaper when in the house. She is housebroke and crate-trained but she will break out of light-weight wire if there is thunder or gunshots. She gets terrified with loud noises. She can get along with male dogs if they're friendly and she has time to get used to them. She will be shy at first with people, but once she warms up she is very sweet and good with kids. She does chase cats but she is not aggressive towards them. One of our cats will ... (Read More)sometimes nuzzle up to her. I can't keep her because I can't have her where I'm moving to and my parents won't keep her. (Less)

Phillip is one of a litter of 9 pups with a story to tell!! This litter was born around May 2, 2015. Their birth mother was reported to be a Spitz and dad an aussie. Sadly momma was hit by a car and killed on Mother's day. Meanwhile, another momma dog had lost all of her 16 puppies, who were born prematurely. Our momma dog, Honey, was grieving and depressed. We were notified of this litter's need and immediately took them in. It was a match made in heaven, or so it seemed. Soon after the miracle, Honey starting experiencing health issues, which necessitated early weaning. Our pups were then syringe fed, until they were able to start eating ... (Read More)on their own. We had a few hiccups along the way, but all 9 pups showed their will to survive! This litter of pups has grown up being handled by young children. We are unsure of breed, as former owner stated dad was an Aussie. These pups are very small and do not appear to be Aussie. It will be quite some time before we can attempt to make a more accurate breed ID. They will definitely be smaller breed dogs, with longer hair. Phillip will have had 2 sets of puppy shots and be neutered prior to adoption. Because of the approximate birthdate of our pups coinciding with the birth of Princess Charlotte, we found it fitting to name them all after British Royalty. We affectionately call this litter the Royals. This pup gets along with other dogs, cats and children. Please follow our facebook page for updated photos. Part of the joy of fostering puppies, is to teach housetraining. We cannot guarantee that each pup will be fully housebroken at the time of adoption, but they will be working on in. PUPPIES WILL NOT HAVE HAD RABIES OR BORDATELLA VACCINE DUE TO AGE. APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT REQUIRED. ADOPTION FEE IS $350. Bluegrass Senior Dog Rescue recruits individuals to foster our dogs on a temporary or permanent basis. The rescue pays for all of the dog's veterinary care and monthly preventatives for the life of the dog while in foster care.
