Koda is a good natured young dog who wants to be around people. He weighs approximately 35 lbs. He is not housebroken. We have a large group of rescue dogs and recently brought him in as a rescue, but he does not mix well with some of the pack, sometimes fighting with normally non-aggressive dogs near chew toys or food. I'm 1 1/2 years old.Adoption Donation: $350. I weigh 42.5 lbs. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and started on Tri Heart Plus & Vectra 3D. I will be up for adoption on December 14th. I can not have any visitors before December 14th. You will need to fill out an online application and receive a phone call back from a staff member that everything is ok with the application prior to December 14th. All family members and any other dogs from the household need to be present at the time of the adoption. It will be first come, first serve on December 14th or people who have approved applications. We ... (Read More)will have a sign in sheet on the door at 6am for anyone that has an approved application and would like to come sign in early. We will start helping adoptions at 9 A.M. Once you have signed in, make sure you stay. If we can help earlier we will. We do not have a history on most of the animals up for adoption since we rescue them Animal Control and they are usually labeled as strays. We can only tell you their behavior since they have been with us. We do not know the specific breeds of each dog. Lacy was recently rescued from a high kill shelter that was overflowing and her time was up. She is vet checked, spayed, heartworm negative and UTD on vaccinations. Shes healthy, very friendly, great with the other dogs, more submissive personality with dogs and people. She loves everybody she meets hoping they have come to give her attention. She has a medium amount of energy, is now crate trained and I believe housebroken. Shes about 1.5 to 2 years old and weighs 41 pounds. She has very soft coat and the most unusual, beautiful color, bright orange strips! They dont show as well in the photo. Everyone who sees her loves her. Really ... (Read More)guessing on breed. Many hounds come brindled and Dutch shepherds, plus some solid breeds when mixed cause brindling but shes shaped, size of, and acts like an Australian Shepherd. Shes just beautiful and very loving! She hasnt had any formal training, but wants to learn! Vet name and number required for a vet reference plus contract prior to adoption. We have discovered Lacy has natural herding ability. she got into the paddock with the 7 young goats and promptly rounded them all up, she was not biting at them but circled them into a bunch! I'M 4 YEARS OLD!! What a stunning boy! Meet Confetti! Confetti is a very handsome 4 year old Australian Shepherd mix that is waiting for you to take him home! Confetti has been at the shelter for 7 months and no one asks about him! What?! He is a total love bug, but would prefer to have a home where he doesn't have to fight for your attention (meaning he wants to be the only dog). He is also still learning how to share his toys, so older children (12+) would be best for him. He loves napping on his bed and is very good about keeping his kennel clean! Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
