Animal ID: 2973Angie (female)
Angie is a super friendly girl, and loves everyone. She is good with the dogs in her foster home, and the kitties too! Angie came into her first rescue pregnant and heartworm positive. After nursing nine puppies, and being the special girl Angie is, heartworm treatment was done. Angie came to HELP for cage rest and is now done with her medical hold. Angie is 4 years of age, DOB of 6-7-13, a Lab X shepherd, and maybe some Aussie or Husky as she has a bit of blue in each eye. She weighs 66.80 #'s of sweetness and loyalty. Although she has a partially torn off ear and is not especially photogenic, Angie is beautiful inside and out. She is housetrained, kennel trained, and is well past the chewing stage. She would make a wonderful companion dog for almost any family. Angie is not much of a barker, and listens well. With a basic companion dog class, some lucky family would have a Best Friend for life. Angie is enjoying the life of being an inside girl, with good food, warmth in the winter, cool in the summer, and Love every day. Angie will make one lucky family or person very happy. (Less)

Animal ID: 0813Mahaska (female)
I don't know much about Mahaska's first family other than she was kept away from the family because the new baby was allergic to her. She is my first foster and she is a DM (deaf) she is learning manners in the home and was already house broken and starting to learn a few things from her first temp foster. Mahaska has learned sit, down, 'up' from a down back to a sit, off, stay, drop it, get it, leave it, come, watch me, quite, no, good girl, and targeting touch-to next step ring a bell to go outside. All hand signals.. She is great at fetch and when she is a little older would be good at frisbee.. I'm 5'2' and at almost 7 months she can jump to my head. She walks really well on a leash..and knows when I tap her ears or her butt to turn and look at me. Super smart and really quick to learn.. She loves the attention and really likes the communication, I think she does mischief stuff just so I talk to her in sign language.. ?? this is her with an awesome leave it.. Note she is not even looking at it.. 'Perfect' If you are interested in making this pup part of your family, please fill out our adoption application:https://form.jotform.com/60815119286155 adoption fee is $325 and all fees are used for future rescue efforts. There is a $50 refundable deposit that will be returned upon proof neuter and microchip (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00625Olaf (male)
*Not my dog but I can connect you with owners.* Currently in Paxton, IL but transport can likely be arranged. Olaf is 10-12 month(based on what I was told his age was when he came here) old deaf Aussie mix(suppose to be w husky/lab but I'm not sure about it because of his size). He is housebroken, crate trained, knows a few hand signals,ok off leash once he trained to his boundaries, good with other dogs(male or female) as long as they are tolerant of his play level/herding instinct, good with kids.. he is great w my 3 year old granddaughter who lives w me BUT she knows not to grab at dogs and she understands she can't startle him so would say home with older kids would be best unless toddler is well behaved. Honestly at times he acts like he may have been abused early in life as he will sometimes cower from you. He loves to play with balls. Olaf currently lives with another dog and enjoys sleeping with his canine pal. Emily (Less)

Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
