Animal ID: 0871Angi (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind, Deaf

Angi is ready for adoption and her forever family. She is a Double Merle Australian Shepherd, 38 lbs and about 5 years old. She is a special dog and will need a special family. She is both blind and deaf and was likely used in a puppy mill for a number of years. She is completely sweet and submissive She likes being petted even more than treats. She will walk on a leash/harness a little and is mostly house trained. As long as you make sure she goes out 4 times a day and keep her on a regular feeding and potty schedule she does not have accidents. She doesn't have accidents in her crate and will whine when she wants to go out. The first day ... (Read More)we got her she found her way from the yard to the front door. It took about a week for her to find her food dish. Now she can navigate the yard and find both doors. She can go up stairs, but down only 2 or 3. She will go out on her own if I leave the door open, so she probably could be trained to a pet door-but it would take time. She walks slowly, so is not hard to keep up with. It will also take more time for her to trust and then start to follow you. She is probably not good with cats. If you are interested in making this pup part of your family, please fill out our adoption application:http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Adoption fee is $275. All proceeds from adoptions go towards future rescues. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-19-00064Leona and Denaya (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Leona and Denaya are sisters. They were from the same litter that someone abandoned on the side of the road. They were extremely malnourished when I first got them. Now they are healthy and growing great. They are such loving dogs and have lots of energy. I yave 3 cats and they never try to attack them. They can be very skittish of most things. They do need some training, but once trained with the simple commands, they will be great dogs. I have a 3 year old and they love to play with him. They are potty trained as well. I am needing to rehome them because I just recently found out I was pregnant and doing it all on my own with a 3 year old ... (Read More)and 3 cats and two dogs is just too much for me to handle with a newborn. Also, the dogs are beginning to gdt heavy and I'm not going yo be able to pick them up, as I had a miscarriage last year and am trying to take it very easy this time around. If someone would be willing to adopt them, I will include two bags of the food that they eat, bowls for food and water, leashes and collars, a dog crate, and some toys. I also have the roof for an outdoor kennel if that could be of use. I just do not have the kennel itself. They are up to date on all their vaccines and will be getting fixed soon before they are rehomed. I have them set up on a wellness plan at Petsmart, so I pay $100 a month for both of them and they can go to the vet any time. If the person adopting them wanted to do so, I would be willing to go with them to the Banfield clinic at Petsmart and have the wellness plan transferred into their name so they could continue having that service. They do take heartworm and flea prevention meds each month that I get from Banfield. I would like to keep them together, as thry have already been through so much in their young lives. They are very attached to each other and it would cause them great turmoil to break them up. Anybody who got these pups would be getting the sweetest dogs ever. Please feel free to call me at 6785237425 for more pictures of them or any questions about adopting these sweet pups. (Less)

The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Georgia Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Aussies are often used by police for narcotics detection. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
