Hi. My husband and I have a Catahoula/Australian Sheppard mix who is almost a year old. Two weeks after we adopted him, we found out I was pregnant. The baby arrived a couple of weeks ago, and it has become painfully apparent we need to find him a new home. He's a good boy, but he requires a lot of attention and exercise that we just can't give him right now. I feel like we're doing him a disservice by keeping him in our home. He is sweet, and he's gentle with the baby. He's also current on all of his vaccinations, flea, tick, heart worm, and he's neutered. We live in Atlanta, GA, but we would be willing to travel to make sure he goes to the right home. (Less)

Animal ID: 1065Graham (male)
Graham is ready to find his Furever home. He is a 18 month old black bi Aussie/Border Collie mix. He is one big ball of goofy energy weighing in at 65lbs. He loves to go on walks and had been learning how to run on a leash while I ride my bike. He would be a good running partner unfortunately for him I'm not a runner lol. Like most Aussies he loves to be next to his human and up in their lap when they sit down, he loves attention and affection. Graham is good with other dogs but not cats, he is also good with kids but do to his size I would say older kids would be best around him. He is very in touch with his inner 5lb self and oblivious of his true size so he might knock little kids down unintentionally. He would need a privacy fence of at least 6ft as he is very athletic and loves to jump. He is house trained and working on crate training but he does mind his manner if out of the crate. All in all he is a great loving dog that has a free spirit and would make a great addition to your family. If you are interested in adopting Graham please fill out an application at http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. His adoption fee is $275 and all proceeds from adoptions go towards future rescues. (Less)

Animal ID: 0871Angi (female)
Angi is ready for adoption and her forever family. She is a Double Merle Australian Shepherd, 38 lbs and about 5 years old. She is a special dog and will need a special family. She is both blind and deaf and was likely used in a puppy mill for a number of years. She is completely sweet and submissive She likes being petted even more than treats. She will walk on a leash/harness a little and is mostly house trained. As long as you make sure she goes out 4 times a day and keep her on a regular feeding and potty schedule she does not have accidents. She doesn't have accidents in her crate and will whine when she wants to go out. The first day we got her she found her way from the yard to the front door. It took about a week for her to find her food dish. Now she can navigate the yard and find both doors. She can go up stairs, but down only 2 or 3. She will go out on her own if I leave the door open, so she probably could be trained to a pet door-but it would take time. She walks slowly, so is not hard to keep up with. It will also take more time for her to trust and then start to follow you. She is probably not good with cats. If you are interested in making this pup part of your family, please fill out our adoption application:http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Adoption fee is $275. All proceeds from adoptions go towards future rescues. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-19-00064Leona and Denaya (female)
Leona and Denaya are sisters. They were from the same litter that someone abandoned on the side of the road. They were extremely malnourished when I first got them. Now they are healthy and growing great. They are such loving dogs and have lots of energy. I yave 3 cats and they never try to attack them. They can be very skittish of most things. They do need some training, but once trained with the simple commands, they will be great dogs. I have a 3 year old and they love to play with him. They are potty trained as well. I am needing to rehome them because I just recently found out I was pregnant and doing it all on my own with a 3 year old and 3 cats and two dogs is just too much for me to handle with a newborn. Also, the dogs are beginning to gdt heavy and I'm not going yo be able to pick them up, as I had a miscarriage last year and am trying to take it very easy this time around. If someone would be willing to adopt them, I will include two bags of the food that they eat, bowls for food and water, leashes and collars, a dog crate, and some toys. I also have the roof for an outdoor kennel if that could be of use. I just do not have the kennel itself. They are up to date on all their vaccines and will be getting fixed soon before they are rehomed. I have them set up on a wellness plan at Petsmart, so I pay $100 a month for both of them and they can go to the vet any time. If the person adopting them wanted to do so, I would be willing to go with them to the Banfield clinic at Petsmart and have the wellness plan transferred into their name so they could continue having that service. They do take heartworm and flea prevention meds each month that I get from Banfield. I would like to keep them together, as thry have already been through so much in their young lives. They are very attached to each other and it would cause them great turmoil to break them up. Anybody who got these pups would be getting the sweetest dogs ever. Please feel free to call me at 6785237425 for more pictures of them or any questions about adopting these sweet pups. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-09-00724Sky (female)
Sky is a wonderful girl. She is 2 years old and was rescued from a high kill shelter when she was only 6 weeks old. She grew up with lots and lots of dogs and is so well mannered with any dogs or cats. She loves kids and people. She is completely housebroken and is just the most perfect little girl. She weighs about 40 lbs. She rides wonderful in the car and is also leash and off leash obedient. WE ARE STRICTLY LOOKING FOR A HOME WHERE SHE HAS ANOTHER DOG TO PLAY WITH. She can not be alone all day since she is so used to have companion ship from other dogs. Being by herself 8 hours a day until her person would come home from work would break her heart, She is extremely quiet and never barks or wines. She wants to be around you as much as she can but is not in your space. She is basically like your shadow and just enjoys the company of her person. for more pictures please visit our facebook page photo albums https://www.facebook.com/pawsandstarsanimalrescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION THROUGH PETFINDER CONTACT US DIRECTLY THROUGH THE PET'S PROFILE OR AT firstname.lastname@example.org We are only able to meet with pre approved applicants since our organization is operating on foster homes only. Her adoption fee is $ 300 which includes all her vaccines, heartworm test, spay and mciro chip. (Less)

Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.
