Rescue Me ID: 17-03-31-00133Bella (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

We rescued Bella from the Humane society in March 2014. When we first got her, she was timid around people and aggressive towards other dogs. We got her training and gave her lots of love, and she is much more relaxed around other dogs and new people. Bella now loves being close to us, she loves cuddles and kisses and she solicits attention and affection from whomever we have over to the apartment. She is very smart, alert, and eager to please. The reason we need to re-home her is we had a baby and they aren't doing great together. Bella and the baby were fine until the baby became a toddler. Unfortunately, our son's movements and behavior ... (Read More)are that of a toddler - erratic and chaotic - and that puts Bella on edge. About a month ago, our son lunged at Bella and she got really close to his face and snarled at him. So, Bella needs a toddler-less and dog-less home. She would do best in a quieter area of the city or a suburb. Please let us know if you or anyone you know is interested in a new furry family member. Please see pictures of Miss Bella below! Many thanks, Elissa and Benjamin (Less)

Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Aussies can be trained to perform tricks. Aussies are often used by police for narcotics detection.
