Rescue Me ID: 17-02-20-00357Charlie (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There is really no way to describe how adorable this boy is. At a year and a half, weighing about 35-40 lbs on short legs, Charlie is beyond cute. He is a happy boy, even though he was dumped by his family at a high kill shelter. Although there is really no way to know what he is mixed with, he seems like a herding dog so even though he is not crazy, active, herders like to be kept physically and mentally stimulated. Exercise and training would be wonderful! This low-riding fluffy boy is looking for a forever home this time, could it be you? If this picture brings a smile to your face like it does ours and you want to be greeted by it ...     Hi I'm Hope and I'm a one-year-old Border Collie mix and I weigh about 40 lbs. I'm the life of the party with TONS of personality and I love everything about life: I like being outside and running around, I like playing with other dogs of all sizes, I like playing with my toys when you're busy, and I absolutely LOVE cuddling and getting belly rubs! I'm also GREAT with small children. I'm really smart, so I'm already housebroken and crate-trained. I'm a wonderful outdoor companion, so if you're looking for someone to run, walk, camp, or hike with, I'm DEFINITELY your girl! Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

This is Plum! She is a two year old Border Collie/Aussie mix, we believe. We have video of her on the Tess K9 Rescue Facebook page. She weighs just over 42 pounds. She is great with everyone, including kids and would probably be great with cats as she seems to have no prey drive or aggression. Her adoption fee (adoption fee, transport fee, and health cert fee are included) is $450. She is NOT in CT due to the lack of fosters in the area. She is currently in TX. If you ... PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Connecticut
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Connecticut Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
