Rescue Me ID: 15-03-26-00569Roxxy (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Very sweet girl who needs a big yard with high fences. Roughly 14 months old, and great with kids. Doesn't get along well with other animals at first, but she got well adjusted to our pug over time. Cats probably not so much. She is exuberant, loving and house broken. Unfortunately we have not been able to give her the time and attention she needs for training and she doesn't quite understand what not to chew on/eat. She is still a puppy in that sense. Can easily jump our 5' fence and we hate to have to chain her in our small back yard. We want to find Roxxy the home she deserves.

Animal ID: 140531Pepper (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pepper is a little over 1 year old. Born Dec 08, 2014..He is a very sweet and lovable puppy who is very active and playful. He entertains himself as best he can but he really needs a larger home and yard area to work off his extra energy.. Ideally a ranch or farm would be most suited to his need where he can do what Border Collies do best.... work. I have given him all required medical treatments and care and loved him like my baby but as I am nearly 70 years old and unaware when I adopted him of how great his need for space to run and play were, I feel he needs more than I can provide for him. I am simply not strong enough to handle ... (Read More)his high energy needs. He will become destructive when this need is not met. Pepper will make a wonderful pet for any family with a home large enough to accommodate his need for exercise. I will be moving back to Florida in a few months and I will not be able to take him with me..He loves to romp and roll in the snow. I promise he will give more love and devotion than you can imagine.     If you are interested in me, please visit my site, www.breederadoptions.org, read my Policies and Procedures, complete the application and my rescuers will contact you promptly. HI! My name is Dasher and I am a beautiful Australian Shepard puppy who is 10 months old and I weigh 60 pounds. I was sold to a pet store who sold me to a kid who went off to college and left me tied to a dog house in the back yard. I was desperate for attention and so I ended up back with my breeder and now some nice folks rescued me and I'm looking for my forever home. I will need obedience training as I am a typical rambunctious puppy and a stay at home parent to ... (Read More)train me. Kids over 10 would be great and an active family would be perfect. Another sibling my size to play with would also help me work off some of my energy. If you are looking for a family companion, please ask for me on your application. Love, Dasher 031515-31 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-19-00473Kacey (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The very first thing that Kacey the Border Collie/Australian Shephard mix wants to make clear is that he's a love. In this photo, you're not aware of the darkest charcoal black and whitest of white that run through his gorgeous coat. It is with grooming, care and great nutrition that Kacey's coat will show its gorgeous colors. Everything is new to Kacey...his adorable little nose sniffs shyly at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile if it's a loving touch. And then before you know it, Kacey is next to you on the couch. He's so happy there because his human relationships are so important to him. We have to remember that Kacey ... (Read More)comes from a very tough and challenging shelter. Once he's assured that all is well, he'll snuggle close. This 8-10 month old, 45 lb (anticipated adult weight 50-55 lbs--what a perfect size for a Colorado dog!) Border Collie mix truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious hugging and kind words will send him over the moon. In this spirit of great behavior, Kacey is doing very well at mastering house training skills...quite an accomplishment for a rescue pup! Kacey is such a people dog. He loves kids of all ages but they definitely must be very gentle and handle him kindly. We envision Kacey with an active retired couple or individual or a family with older kids who want an adorable and sweet dog as a family member and best companion. He would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his family. Being a Border Collie/Aussie, Kacey loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He would be a natural in positive reinforcement group obedience classes and agility class. He would love the challenge and is so smart and wanting to please, he would excel. He would also be overjoyed to hike along gorgeous Colorado paths..enjoying the sunshine and time with his people. Kacey can have a moment of insecurity from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great guy past these feelings and let him know he is loved and won't be abandoned. His nature is to be very joyful and in moments his silly and fun nature takes over. Kacey will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy, shiny and matt-free. In fulfilling our commitment to zero population growth, Farfels is happy to cover all costs for neutering and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Kacey will be arriving on transport from Kansas on Tuesday 3/24/15. Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Abused/Neglected

Rowdy is approximately 1 year old. Super smart loving obedient, not too potty trained and chews a lot. We rescued him because he was tied to a tree super skinny and shivering. He is such a good boy and tries so hard to be a good boy and crawl in your skin to be cuddled, such a lover. We have no fence, however he does stay. I live in a snobby neighborhood and god for bid your dog isn't contained. He has been chewing our garage and my husband is having a fit. He said I could keep him if I caged him. I would rather find him a good home than have to pen him. It breaks my heart to see him go, but I am thinking of Rowdy's happiness. If you can ... (Read More)give him the best please contact me. lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Colorado Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
