Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Name: Roger Breed: Aussie mix Gender: Male Age: 2 years Weight: 40 lbs. Meet Roger! Jeepers! Today is your lucky day! You just stumbled across the 'barkography' of one of the most loyal 4-legged dudes in Colorado! In fact, I'll just go ahead and refer to you as Shaggy Rogers for now. And, I'm Scooby Doo! Oh wait'| you say your name is not Shaggy?!? No worries, I'm a smarty-pants and happy to call you whatever name you like, just as long as you give me one of those yummy Scooby Snacks! While not too much is known about my past, I'd much prefer to focus on my future'| ahem '| I mean OUR future. We're an investigative team after all! ... (Read More)While I'm waiting for YOU to come meet me, I'm enjoying my groovy foster family, where I'm quickly picking up basic obedience commands. I've got the house manners down! I'm already potty-trained and I promise not to chew up your couch or shoes. I haven't had too much interaction with other pups yet, but I sure hope to make some fellow canine pals soon! I did see a cat across the way this week, and I sure was eager to go investigate that lil' bugger (you humans might call that a 'chase instinct', but I think it of it more as a strong 'investigative ability'). I really enjoy the company of humans - so much so that I would much prefer to be near them than in a crate, but I'll spend time in there begrudgingly. I haven't met a young 2-legged-type yet, but I'm sure when I do I'll be eager to check them out! If you think a handsome, loyal, four-legged co-investigator will fit well into your family, please email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an application on the PawsCo Adoptions website today! I look forward to solving many mysteries with you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-26-00161Sheila (female)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our dog is Sheila, a spayed 50 pound, 2 1/2 yr old female Aussie. We adopted her when she was 6 months old and knew nothing about her background. She was very high energy and did not seem socialized very well. We have been with her for 2 years now and she has made so much progress. She has learned to ride in the car without barking and to accept strangers in our home -- with the 'warming up' activity. We spent $1,200 on the SitMeansSit training. This training uses the sporting-dog shock collar and it works with Sheila. She responds immediately to 'Sit', 'Stay' and 'Come'. She barks only when she gets excited, e.g. getting into the car or ... (Read More)when the doorbell rings. Sheila gets along very well with other dogs. We go to the local dog parks every day and she does fine with the dogs and the humans, too! She is a great family dog, loves camping and gets along really well with our 4 yr old male Aussie (who was with us well before she arrived). We have no children in our home. Her history of aggression includes snapping/nipping at visitors to our home when we first got her. That behavior has gone away over the last 2 years. Earlier this week, I was outside with Sheila in our backyard, which goes steeply uphill to a county Open Space. Sheila had her collar on and I had the controller but I didn't see her slip past our property into the Open Space. A woman was jogging by and Shelia nipped at her and broke the skin which caused bleeding. She did not seek medical attention. She did report the incident to Animal Control and now we are dealing with quarantine, fines and possible lawsuits. My husband does not want to deal with anything involving lawsuits and he is more than ready to take Sheila to the Animal Shelter. I am desperately trying to find her another home! Sheila would do very well on a farm or ranch or a home with a large fenced yard. She is the typical intelligent Aussie and would do so well with all-day exercise. I'm hoping that your website may find a home for her in that situation. Thank you! (Less)

Meet sweet lady Maxine! Maxine is a very loving and sweet dog who is good with other dogs, kids and adults. She has a high prey drive and does not do well with cats or other small, non-canine species. Maxine is playful at times and loves to hang out with her human. We believe she is a 4 year old Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler/Australian Shepherd mix. She is very affectionate and gives kisses to her people. Maxine tends to be shy at the first meeting, but she warms up once she is with her person (within hours). After that, she is always focused on what her person is doing and wants to be by their side. She is very loyal and eager to please. Maxine is ... (Read More)house trained. She is looking for a forever home where she will be loved, well cared for and exercised! She will be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal canine to be by their side. Maxine cannot be left outside unattended. She gets startled easily by loud noises and thunderstorms and can jump a 6' privacy fence, (if inclined to do so). If you'd like to meet Maxine, please fill out the online app today! Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet our new rescue dog, Rusty! He is a two year old American Bulldog/Shepherd mix. Rusty loves snuggling and getting belly rubs. He likes going for car rides. Rusty is anxious to please his human and is motivated by verbal praise. He loves any treat he is offered and accepts them gently while sitting. Rusty enjoys being brushed and does not like getting wet (in the sprinkler or the wet grass)!! Rusty is a very healthy stray from the Fort Morgan area of Colorado, but it is obvious to his foster mom that he has had a very positive human relationship in his past. Rusty knows how to use the dog door when he needs to go out. He is house trained ... (Read More)and learning to be crate trained. Rusty will need leash training because he can pull hard. Rusty gets along with other dogs, but sometimes he can play too rough or aggressively. Rusty has a dominant personality. He does not get along with cats. Rusty has not been observed around young kids yet. He has no preference towards men versus women. Rusty is very smart and obeys a firm voice. He knows the commands: Come, Sit, Stay, Down, Off and No Bark. Rusty needs continued training to limit aggression in play with humans and other dogs. He will need continued leash training. He can be more concerned with food in bowls other than his own, but he is learning to share at meal times. Rusty needs that chance to be a member of a family again, and he will thrive. If you'd like to meet Rusty, please fill out the online app today! Adoption fee is $175 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter.     Hi, my name is penny. I'm the black, brown and white. I have a lab sister Pepper, who is posted under labs. We had the unfortunate situation of losing our home we have been placed in separate foster homes. Unlike my sister I have some issues. I do no like to be mounted by other dogs. Australian Shepherd    Age: Senior

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

I have a 10 year old Aussie who I have owned since she was 1. She has been a great dog and companion over the years but she has behavioral issues that are no longer acceptable with my life situation. Like most Aussies she nips at feet and is suspicious of kids. I now have kids in my house full time and can not fully trust her around them. An ideal home would be an adult with no kids and no other dogs. While she does well with the small dogs in our house (not around food) she does not do well with medium to large dogs. I have worked with a few trainers this last year and they believe her aggression is fear driven and can be worked on but she ... (Read More)would likely never be safe and comfortable around kids and other dogs. I would love to find her a home with an understanding and patient owner where she can live out the rest of her days stress free away from children and dogs. (Less)

Hi, We are Radar and Sydney! If you are looking to add a pair of delightful pre-loved doggies to your life, we would love to meet you. We are being rehomed by our owners because of severe dog allergies that have developed in the kids in our home. We are very much loved, and our owners are hoping to find us a home where we will be cherished as much as we are now. We are a male and female, healthy, neutered and spayed, and up to date on our shots. We are both very well behaved and get along with other dogs famously. Cats are probably not a good match for us. Although we are getting on in years, we are very loving and have a lot to offer. ... (Read More)We are cuddle muffins, and are especially good at making you feel important and loved. We both ADORE children! Kids are our favorite people, and we are very patient and gentle with them. We are both housetrained and have also had obedience training. Please open your heart and home to us! We will definitely wow you with wiggles and lavish you with loving licks. We come with all our doggie stuff, including two dog crates, leashes, balls, dog bowls, two dog beds, and lots of treats and bone.
