Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Angel is a 3-4 year old, 35 lb. spayed and utd Corgi/Aussie mix. She is house and crate trained. She acts shy at first but warms up quickly. She loves other dogs, cats and kids. She loves to cuddle with her fursibblings or with her human. Angel takes her role as a herding dog very seriously. She will patrol the house and yard and will let you know if something is amiss. She will only bark if she wants to warn you of something but she loves to 'baroooooo!' and will do so on command. Angel is an easy-going girl and she loves to catch a nap on the sofa or sploot on the floor. She is such a funny and loving girl who would do best in a home with ... Rescue Me ID: 17-05-21-00457Jake (male)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jake (a.k.a Joyful Jake Chick Magnet) is a 6-1/2 year old Australian Shepherd who weighs about 55 pounds. He is intelligent, challenging, excitable, sensitive, and high anxiety. He needs a home with someone that has experience with Aussies or Border Collies. Jake will benefit from having a good pack leader. As with most Aussies, he is not a yard dog and he wants to be inside with his people. He generally gets along well with other dogs and goes to doggie day care. He lives with a cat without problem, he will chase cats, squirrels, and rabbits when outside. He has had only limited exposure to children and so we are recommending a home with no ... (Read More)kids under 10 years old. Jake has decided that his job is to protect his house from the mailman, he barks and growls and is difficult to control he will protect you from the mail. He also barks when others come to the door, but his tail is wagging a mile a minute and he is very excited when people come in, spinning and jumping, he has trouble hearing commands to settle down. Jake's new family should be prepared to work on some behavior modification with him, to help him change his response in these situations. On occasions Jake expresses his opinion with a series of barks and growls. We certainly anticipate that Jake will thrive with lots of exercise for his mind and body and a committed owner. Jake has participated in classes or drop-ins for Rally (has an AKC Novice Rally Title), Obedience, Agility and has done some sheep herding. He likes learning new things, especially if treats are involved. He needs some work on off-lead recalls when he is outside his yard. If he is to be left for a time in a fenced area, the fence needs to be 6 feet tall. Jake needs a home where there is daily activity and attention. He would do best in a situation where he can spend most of the day with someone. He probably would enjoy being with another dog. Daily activities like walks or runs, playing Frisbee or ball, herding, or agility are important. Call Cindy 970-353-1385 (Less)

Opal and her siblings were an "accidental" litter in a small town in new mexico. The owner of the mom didn't want the puppies so asked us to take them. only giving us 24 hours before dumping them at a shelter. Unfortunately this story is just all too common in some parts of the country. All of these babies are adorable! We are honestly not too sure on breeds, but we believe they most likely have Aussie in them, maybe some border collie, mixed with some smaller terrier, maybe a jack russell? We believe these babies will be between 15-30lbs, but can't make any guarantees. Opal will most likely be on the smaller side of all her ... (Read More)siblings. Some will be bigger than others. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-14-00186Senga / Jasmine (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

In the words of Senga's Colorado foster mom... 'This lovebug Senga is a gem. Good to her core, loyal and sweet. She politely greets every person and dog she meets. She is equally as happy snuggling on the couch as she is going for a run or walk. Senga has such good manners and is insanely smart and eager to please. She is a stunner inside and out'. Farfel's Rescue was notified by our compassionate rescuer in New Mexico that a very beautiful and sweet Australian Shepherd mix (maybe with just a touch of Red Cattle Dog) would be scheduled for euthanasia in just a few days. Senga aka Jasmine is beautiful...with the softest and kindest eyes ... (Read More)that just reach into your heart. The rescuer spoke of this 18 month old, 35lb sweetheart as a gift of love. These very popular Australian Shepherds are now being opportunistically bred for their beautiful looks and sweet and very intelligent personalities. After one look at the sad eyes staring out of the shelter photo and reading the reports of Jasmine's sweetness that speaks of a desire to trust and bond...we accepted her immediately into Farfel's Rescue. Senga was removed from the shelter, vetted (perfectly healthy), temperament-tested (passed with flying colors) and went home with her rescuer (who fell in love with her). We've committed to finding Jasmine a kind and very loving family who will enjoy her for her devotion, sweetness and strong desire to please. Once Jasmine becomes comfortable in her surroundings, she is a friend that will make you laugh at her antics and want to hold her tight just because she's so incredibly cute! We would love to see Jasmine in a home where she becomes a true member of the family. Active retirees or individuals who work out of the home would be perfect for this sweet young girl. Jasmine appears to have a calm side that loves nothing more than to settle into her person's lap (or lying close on the couch) and stay put with an occasional lick and a smile of delight at her good fortune. Senga / Jasmine has a gorgeous coat that will require a commitment to periodic baths/brushing. Great nutrition and care will keep Jasmine's beautiful coat cottony-soft and healthy. Senga / Jasmine has been spayed and is doing very well learning basic commands such as Sit, Come, Stay. She's housebroken, too! Farfel's will be happy to also cover her microchip if our Denver vet is used. If you are interested in providing a wonderful home for this very sweet, smart, loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.     I was a stray that a nice family took in but I didn't fit into their family group. I'm quite shy of men - might take me a while to get used to them.     Bailey is a 2 month old Australian Shepherd mix. We believe that Bailey is "double Merle". This means that she has two sets of the Merle gene, which can sometimes cause some hearing or sight loss. Bailey does seem to be deaf, but she can see just fine!! Bailey is as sweet as can be, and you would never know she had any special needs. She plays with her siblings and follows her foster mom around the house just like the rest of them! Bailey is just the sweetest girl around. She loves to get belly rubs and snuggle from her foster mom, but if her foster mom is busy, she is fine hanging with her siblings and rough housing with ... (Read More)them. Bailey would do great in most home environments as long as she gets to be mentally stimulated and gets lots of love and attention. She would do great with another dog or kids to play with, but neither are a must. Bailey would make such a great adventure buddy for the CO mountains! Especially since she has that white coat, she wont get too hot too quickly like black dogs do. Bailey is truly an amazing little girl, with beautiful blue eyes, and deserves nothing but the best! Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Liam is a 4 month old, 20lb-ish Shepherd mix. We believe he is a Collie/Aussie mix, but honestly cannot be sure. Liam was dumped at an overcrowded shelter in TX, where they get almost no foot traffic. He sat there for over two weeks just waiting to be free. We finally found someone to help us get this baby from the shelter and into a loving foster home. Once he was in the foster home, he became ill and unable to transport. It has now been a month since then and Liam is beyond excited for his ride to CO to find his forever family. He is a happy, healthy, spunky guy! Liam has been fostered with two other dogs. One who is a grumpy ... (Read More)old man, and Liam has learned over time to leave him alone. His other foster brother and Liam have become best friends. They adventure in the big open space together and play all the time. Liam is such a sweet boy. Liam has many of the Border Collie traits. He is SO smart, and very eager to learn. Liam is a 'retriever' and loves to bring toys etc. back to his foster home...especially if she throws them in the lake for him to get. Liam LOVES, LOVES the water!!! A family who goes to lakes etc. would be so perfect for him! He is already crate trained and almost potty trained (we say almost because there is always an adjustment period in a new home). Liam would be the perfect 'sidekick' for someone who is active and likes to go on adventures. Liam would also be a great family dog if they have another dog for him to play with or are active. Liam cannot be a dog that just sits around the house all day and goes for a short walk. He need to be mentally stimulated and enjoys being active so much. That being said, if there is down time or a crummy day, Liam is easy going and is totally fine to just chill. Liam is so perfect and beyond beautiful. We know he is going to make the perfect companion for someone! If you are interested in adopting Liam, please email us at brighterdaysdogrescue@gmail.com (Less)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

It is impossible to not fall in love with Jasmine. She's petite, gentle, and is the most lovable dog you may ever meet in your life. She absolutely loves being around people and will follow you everywhere you go. If you want a companion, this girl is the way to go. She loves being brushed, getting massages, scratches behind the ear, and marrow bones with peanut butter. On nice days she loves to be in the backyard, laying out in the sun. She is great on leash!! She does not know most commands, but is in the process of learning and may need a little training on proper etiquette around people food (she is a professional table surfer). She is ... (Read More)potty trained! Also, Jasmine has what can best be described as double jointed hind legs. She can go on long walks and play outside, but it is best that she does not run for long distances. She has no problem with stairs or things like playing fetch ٪ The shelter she came from in TX said that she was their VIP dog, which meant she was great behaviorally and that she did well with kids and adults. Her foster mom hasn't had the chance to bring her around kids, but she absolutely loves meeting people. She loves other dogs, too! She did great on her recent outing to New Belgium Brewery. Sometimes, she gets nervous and growls, but all she needs is to feel safe and loved and she is right back to normal. Jasmine is approx 9-12 months old and is located in Fort Collins. Her adoption fee is $300. (Less)
