Rescue Me ID: 17-02-15-00163Macy (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Macy ...she could see that her temperaments was so kind and calm that she couldn't allow her to be euthanized. Macy is the kind of very endearing puppy that will lie in your arms and give a periodic loving kiss... but then watch out.puppy energy calls. She is a great combination of sweet lap (or couch) puppy mixed with the energy to participate ... (Read More)in any activity. When full-grown, Macy will be a take along kind of girl who can hike a mountain or go to a dog-loving workplace. Her talents and great temperament will come out with positive reinforcement group obedience classes (Farfel's is happy to provide the name of a trainer in your area). Macy is such a smart and engaging puppy that she'll find huge success in in these type of classes. Macy was immediately brought to be vetted and brought to the home of her rescuer to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Macy at only 15 weeks old and 12 lbs (expected to be approximately 25 - 30 lbs when full-grown) is very calm and so very sweet that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for her rescuer. Macy is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her...and she's incredibly entertaining when she gets going. If she continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...Macy will become a well-adjusted and engaging adult companion. Macy is a gorgeous Australian Shepherd/Border Collie puppy (this mix is identified by the shelter..we're not sure but know that Macy is an adorable and very sweet girl) with a shining coat that speaks of good health. her calm demeanor is just who she is...she just appears to be more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If Macy is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted girl who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Macy. We also feel it's very important that Macy is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. She would be overjoyed with one day hiking along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Macy can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany her family just about anywhere. Macy will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out healthy and well-balanced pups. Farfel's has requested that Macy be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Macy's spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Macy will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 2/18/17. If interested in this beautiful and sweet...and often very silly and entertaining best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. Rescue Me ID: 17-02-15-00146Wyatt-ADOPTION PENDING (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

When Wyatt's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and extremely dirty) Wyatt tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this beautiful dog is..and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Wyatt became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great temperament that held every possibility for a great future. At just 18 - 24 months old and 34 lbs, this very beautiful pup is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog ... (Read More)he's capable of being. We'd love to match Wyatt to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable guy. He's a perfect size to accompany his family on long hikes, snowshoeing and socializing with friends..and then crashes on the couch loving the closeness to his people. Positive reinforcement group obedience classes will not only provide socialization and great skills...but will cement the relationship between Wyatt and his family (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of great trainers in your area). He's so smart that he's a natural to succeed in learning his skills...and would be so excited at his success! Wyatt gets lots of attention when he's out and about...he's engaging (while a bit shy at first) and as sweet as can be. He's also extremely eye-catching...he appears to be a Australian Shepherd/Sheltie mix.. but we would never swear to it. He's just an adorable and fun scruffy guy that's irresistible! When Wyatt turns that gentle look in your direction (with those amazing topaz, expressive eyes), you can't help but smile at his adorable ways. You can see a bit of a sign that this young pup has had difficult times. But not for him to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Wyatt's style. It's clear that he is working on leaving any pain behind. Farfel's Rescue is searching for a family with older kids or active retirees for Wyatt. A retired couple or individual would be great as Wyatt would thrive on the time and attention that retirees often put into their pets. A family with dog-crazy kids would also be perfect for Wyatt if they don't work full-time outside of the home. If they do and will consider a doggy daycare situation..they would be a great compromise. Wyatt would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who can be gentle and fun playmates. Wyatt is an extremely beautiful dog (his beauty doesn't come through in his sad shelter photo). We've requested new photos of Wyatt and will update when we receive them. He's so grateful being out of the shelter that there's almost a smile on his beautiful face. Wyatt is by nature a very happy guy once he's comfortable...a bit of patience, treats and belly rubs will truly get this guy's attention as he's had far too little in his life. Wyatt's rescuer is very happy to report that he is coming out of his shell more each day...he's blossoming. She's very clear that Wyatt will be a wonderful and bonded family member when he has love and nurturing as a part of his life. Farfel's has requested that Wyatt be neutered prior to his arrival in Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this area of New Mexico. If it doesn't, we'll be happy to cover all costs for Wyatt's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Wyatt will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 2/25/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and fun-loving best friend, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. Rescue Me ID: 17-02-14-00252Mikey (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Mikey is a 13 month old pit bull/Australian Shepard. He is very fearful/anxious which can turn to aggression. We have three small children which he gets along with very well. He needs some training and time which I can't do with small children. He does great with the family but barks at strangers and doesn't like men with hats because an old neighbor teen-ager used to tease him. I honestly think with time and training he could be a great dog I just don't have one on one time with him. It breaks my heart to let him go because he does have a sweet side to him so I'm hopeful someone will adopt him so I don't have to put him down. Thanks

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-11-00091Lena-ADOPTION PENDING (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Lena, at just 8 weeks old and 7 lbs (estimated to be full grown at approximately 40 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Kansas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this amazing puppy...they rescued Lena just in time. This cuddly Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix (the breed mix identified by Kansas vets...we just know she's incredibly adorable ... (Read More)and sweet as can be!) is starting out with great energy. The excellent results of Lena's temperament-testing and vetting ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and hope for a new life. Lena is incredibly beautiful...with the striking brindle markings that have come out even more since she received a sudsy bath following her release from the shelter. Lena's coat will shine and be cottony-soft with a commitment to great nutrition and periodic grooming. Lena is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of a Lab mix. She's also bright and loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Lena is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion and will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) through positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force free group obedience classes (we're happy to share a list of great trainers). It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior. We're open to Lena finding her forever home with very active retirees who have lots of energy to train and enjoy a young puppy. She would blossom with the time and attention that this type of home offers. Lena is also great with children and would be a very fun and cuddly best friend for dog-loving kids. We wouldn't be open to placing Lena with a family that works full time outside of the home. This regimen wouldn't speak to the needs of a young puppy. Lena will be up to date on her vetting. We've requested that she be spayed when she arrives from Texas, however a very young puppy like Lena is often deemed too young to fix. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Lena to be spayed and microchipped at our Denver vet to be in line with our commitment to the solution to pet overpopulation. Lena will be arriving on transport in Denver on Tuesday 2/14/17. If interested in this very sweet and fun-loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-04-00175Jasmine (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Hello! I'm Jasmine! Im an 6-8 month old Aussie mix. Let me start with I LOVE to be with people. They make my heart happy and my tail wag. I do get a little scared if approached too quickly but I've become more at ease when being approached. I also LOVE other dogs. My foster brother is tiny and we get along great. Also, my foster parents dog is bigger and we get along just as well. When I went to work on walking on a leash yesterday, I met the neighbors cat. I think he's kind of cool. I sniffed him and went on about my business. My favorite part of the day is when the human children come home. I love to play with the 2 yro during the day and ... (Read More)end my night snuggling with the 10 yro. My foster mom says, 'I'm a doll and will be an amazing addition to someone's loving home'. My mom also says,' Good girl when I go outside to potty.' I let her know by scratching the back door. I thank you for reading about me and I cannot wait to greet you with tail wags and kisses! One more thing, before I go to my furever home I do need a vet visit which is in just a few days. I have a lot of love, happiness and excitement to give. Could you possibly be my furever home? Rescue Me ID: 17-02-04-00145Gabby (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

There's nothing quite like young energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm doggie breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think that they're homeless in rural Texas. Farfel's Rescue was contacted by Gabby's rescuer (who was already enamored with the sweetness of this beautiful baby)...we were told about the great personality and over- the- top cuteness of this special dog and made the decision to help Gabby find her first ever forever family. She deserves a great home and loving guardian just as much as any other sweet pup with a great temperament. Please note - this sad ... (Read More)shelter photo (makes Gabby look out of proportion and not at all her beautiful self) is the only photo that was made available to us. We'll update with a new shot that will show Gabby's gorgeous red merle coloring and dark eyes with so much wisdom for a young pup. Gabby, at just 18 weeks old and 20 lbs (anticipated full-grown weight of 32 - 35 lbs), was facing the possible end of her life just as it was beginning. ...she was rescued just in the nick of time. This sweet and engaging Cattle Dog/Aussie Shepherd mix (a popular breed cross that's loved for it's intelligence, super-soft coat and engaging personality) is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Gabby is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of these working breeds. She's also bright and so loving (loves to cuddle in your lap-but watch out..puppy energy may call). Gabby clearly has no memory of her scary early life...she's well-adjusted and (while initially a bit shy) warms up and is a loyal and very loving girl. Since Gabby is such a young dog, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion. Gabby will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through being exposed to many different situations out in the world. Positive reinforcement group obedience classes would be perfect for Gabby. It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the outside world with appropriate behavior. We're open to Gabby finding her forever home with active retirees with lots of energy and time to train and enjoy a young dog. Gabby is known to do very well with gentle children and would enjoy the fun a family with kids would offer. Other dogs are great companions for Gabby as well..she's appropriate and fun-loving in her play. Gabby will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 2/10/17. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] 5 year old female Aussie/Shiba mix. Very friendly and mellow dog. LOVES other dogs and likes to be next to you in the house. Great personality, really funny dog and well behaved. House broken and kennel trained. Sadly we are looking for a new home for her (and her sister Murphy) because of her siezures. I previously worked from home and was able to be with her all the time but my work situation has changed, I travel alot for work now and when I am working locally the dogs are home alone at least 10 hours a day. We are worried that she will have a bad siezure and hurt herself with no one home to help. We ... (Read More)are looking for someone that can be with them more often as they both really like to be with people as much as possible. We are only interested in adopting her out with our other dog as they have been together almost their whole lives and really are best buds!! Our other dog, Murphy is a 4 year old female Golden Retriever/Boxer mix that is also spayed/house broken/kennel trained and current on all vaccines with no health issues. Seriously the most affectionate and loving dog, all she wants is for a human to pet her! Please contact me if you are interested in giving them both a loving home, and I can provide additional pics/info for both dogs. (Less)

It appeared that they had been poisoned. Four of the puppies died. The remaining 4 puppies didn't get very sick and we were able to save them. Lilly is the only one that has not found her forever home. She is very very shy and will need a lot of work, so we are also looking for a home with another dog and no small children. Call Cindy at (970) 353-1385.
