Billie is a 11 week old Australian Shepherd/Boxer mix. Billie and her siblings were turned into a shelter in New Mexico with no mom. We were immediately asked to take them before they got sick in the shelter environment. They have now been in foster care for a couple weeks, fully vetted, and are doing great! Billie and her siblings are sweet, smart, snuggly, playful, and social. They have been fostered with a cat and two other dogs who they love to learn from and follow around. These pups love being outdoors and rough-housing with each other. That being said, they also love people and love to snuggle. They are the typical loving, ... (Read More)adorable, happy puppies. They have also learned how to use the fosters doggy door! We would love to find a home for each of them with a family who has lots of time to spend with them, and someone who will love them unconditionally. Puppy classes are must to keep their wonderful socialization up! If you are interested in adopting Billie or one of her siblings, please email us at brighterdaysdogrescue@gmail.com, or fill out our application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com to get ahead of the game :) (Less)

He loves the outdoors (primarily slept outdoors in California)but also enjoys being in the house. He enjoys walks, tug of wars, floating in a raft or canoe, accompanying us on river trips, being by our side while we snowshoe, etc. Since moving to Colorado a few months ago, he has experienced adjustment issues. Our backyard faces ... He is lovable dog who wants to be by your side. He enjoys being around people and everyone who has provided day and overnight care for him over the years speaks highly of him. He is a sweet, playful dog who will be devoted to anyone lucky enough to adopt him. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Colorado
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Colorado Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Aussies can be trained to perform tricks. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
