Animal ID: 1069Teddy (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered

Teddy Australian Shepherd Mix Male 2 years old 45 lbs. Hi! I'm Teddy. What did the dog say to the tree? Bark! What did the dog say to the sandpaper? Ruff! When does a dog go moo? When he's learning a new language! OK, I admit that's not my strongest comedy material. Like funnyman Will Farrell, I'm more of a physical comedian. In fact, I hear I'm a lot like Will - funny, friendly, and upbeat. Life with me is like living in your favorite, 'Saturday Night Live' sketch! I have a lot of love and energy to spread around - like Will, I want to share my talents with the world! When you're a superstar like me, you've got to let people know about ... (Read More)it. I just love everyone I meet (people and dogs alike!) and I am such a friendly, happy guy ready to make friends wherever I go- I'm, 'Old School' that way'|get it? I also would be an excellent hiking or jogging partner as I love to get my daily exercise but then I'm ready for some good ole' cuddle time at home! Like Will, I'm also incredibly smart and love learning new things. I also have special talents! No, I can't ice skate like he does in, 'Blades of Glory' or play the cowbell, but I do something few canines have ever even attempted - I give hugs! That's right! I stand and wrap by two front legs around your waist for a hug and squeeze. Everyone says they've never had such great, authentic hugs from a dog before - I love making people feel loved and adored because I've got a lot of love to give! Because I have so much love to give, I do prefer to be with another dog when I am left at home alone and/or would do great in a home where my human companions are around a lot. I just don't want to be away from you and would thrive in a home where I can just be right by your side! And I could also benefit from a family who can offer me patience and love while I grow more confidence being left home on my own (but, again, having another dog buddy around helps me a ton!) Can I be your, 'Anchorman'? Please email the PawsCo team or fill out an adoption application on the PawsCo website. Stay classy! (Less)

The very first thing our rescuer noticed about Fritz was his gorgeous eyes in the dim shelter light. She stared at Fritz for a bit and saw all the wonderful possibilities in this very beautiful Australian Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog mix. This photo definitely doesn't do this exceptional guy justice! A spa day is in order - underneath the shelter matts and filth is an exceptional Aussie/Bernese mix with! Fritz immediately made it clear that he's a LOVE! His adorable nose sniffed shyly through the bars at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile. Fritz was brought out of his cage.. and before you know it, he had his head in ... (Read More)our rescuer's lap. He was shy and a bit frightened but was so happy for the hug and sense of safety. This 18 - 24 month old, 45 lb cutie-pie truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious belly rubs and kind words will send him over the moon. Fritz wants to be a people dog...with a bit of post-shelter confidence and love...he will be overjoyed that he's finally found his forever family. We are searching for a home with a very loving family. Dog-loving and involved kids would be perfect for this very kind pup. We can also envision Fritz with a very active retired couple or individual who want an adorable young dog as a family member and companion. He would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his people. He's quiet and mellow enough to spend some afternoon time snoozing on the couch and then would be so excited to go for a long walk on mountain trails or neighborhood paths...he truly loves being with his people. Fritz would also be a perfect office dog in a dog-friendly workplace....he would be well behaved and respectful (as long as he can sleep on your feet...great foot warmer) He can have moments of shyness from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great guy past any insecure feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned again. Fritz will arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 4/22/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this wonderful companion and best friend, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

My self-summary: My name is Cotton and I am searching for someone to spend forever with. My family & I were found living under an abandoned house in Houston. But hey, it wasn't so bad, at least we had mom! When we were about 2 weeks old a rescue lady was out feeding strays and found us. We were all pretty scared because people never really paid attention to us those days. She pulled us all out (mom too!) and we went to visit the doc. After getting a good bill of health we went to a foster home where we have been ever since! I'm starting a new chapter of my life by moving to Colorado and hope to be greeted by my lovers. My rescuers think I am ... (Read More)a mini aussie/terrier mix. I wont be larger than 25-30 lbs. What I'm doing with my life: Talk about a loaded question, life is so new to me! I'm taking it day by day! Most days consist of waking up, eating, wrestling, exploring, cuddling and napping, in no particular order. I dream to go to school, mostly because I hear you get endless treats for being smart. I'm really good at: Going potty outside, cuddling, giving kisses, meeting kitties and other puppies, being beautiful. First things people usually notice about me: My overall fluffiness and wagging tail, obviously. Most private thing I'm willing to admit: I love sticking my head under running water. What I'm looking for: A person or family who has a lot of time for me A cuddle buddy Commitment Love Treat, toys, my own bed, chewies, car rides, hikes, did I say cuddles already? You should message me if: You're ready for the cutest/most loyal companion. Contact: Sunshinecanyondr@gmail.com if you think we're a good fit and maybe we can go on a date! (Less)

J-bell is a 5 year old DEAF Aussie who listens better than our golden (when she is looking at you). I take her to work everyday and in our office we have 5 other dogs that are their daily so she is very socialized. We also have a 3 year old and a 6 month kids and she plays well with the 3 three old. All in all she is a wonderful dog and needs a home where someone can give her the time that she needs. Once i arrive at home from work she loves to stay outside as long as possible and keep tabs on the neighbors. I have taken her hiking and she does well except when we get into the tall brush and she loses sight of me. She likes the leash i think ... With the children, moving, work, and life I just don't have the time to give to J-bell that she deserves. She is looking for a loving home and someone to play with.     Lilly: Aussie/Heeler/Collie 2 1/2 yrs. old, 40 lbs, housebroken. A good Samaritan saw a litter of puppies being dumped, luckily they were able to gather them up and take them home. It appeared that they had been poisoned. Four of the puppies died. The remaining 4 puppies didn't get very sick and we were able to save them. Lilly is the only one that has not found her forever home. She is very very shy and will need a lot of work, so we are also looking for a home with another dog and no small children. PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Colorado
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.

Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Aussies can be trained to perform tricks. Aussies are often used by police for narcotics detection. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
