Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00096Sally-ADOPTION PENDING (female)

Australian Shepherd    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sally is currently our tiniest rescue puppy at 3.8 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 20 - 25 lbs when full grown)..but the love and sweetness that she puts out there is huge in its scope! Sally is just 8 weeks old and absolutely gorgeous with 1 sky-blue eye and one chocolate brown. Sally is so engaging... overjoyed at spending time with anyone who is kind and respectful...and once she's over that moment of initial shyness...she loves nothing more than being a full-time lap dog. She's already so excited to accompany her people on puppy-step walks, car rides and any activity that means they're together. Sally is so small now and very ... (Read More)low-maintenance for a puppy that she's a natural to bring along almost anywhere to start her socialization process. This is so important for a young, super-friendly puppy to carry these qualities into their adulthood. Puppy socialization classes will bring this naturally engaging puppy to new heights of confidence and healthy curiosity about the world. It will also promote family bonding...once she bonds...she can be counted on for great behavior anywhere he goes and a desire to please her family that she loves so much. Sally has done so well with other gentle small dogs...she enjoys kind play...or just hanging out together in the sunshine would also make her very happy. Sally is searching for a committed and kind family that will love her unconditionally as she grows. Once she feels safe, she gives 100% to her relationships and will love her family deeply. We envision Sally with either a retired couple or individual who would choose a snuggly, cuddly dog as a full-time companion or she would love a family with gentle children who are present to play with, train and love a brand new puppy. Sally would fill this role perfectly...she would give her whole heart to please, and be in the company of her favorite people. Since Sally requires just a bit of exercise at her current small size, she would be perfect for those who choose a dog for their friendship and ease to bring along just about anywhere. As she grows, she'll enjoy hiking, long walks and serious playtime with her favorite humans and canines. She will be a great companion for vacations or long-distance visits as she loves meeting new people and greets them with a huge tail wag and a sloppy kiss. Sally's coat (with the most amazing markings we've ever seen) will be healthy and cotton-soft with a regiment of bathing/brushing and excellent nutrition, The shelter in Kansas deemed Sally too young to spay at this point...Farfel's will be happy to cover costs of spaying and microchipping when she's a bit older and if one of our local rescue vets is used. Sally will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/18. If interested in this adorable and sweet puppy, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Incontinence is controlled by Proin so she is an indoor/outdoor pet. Gets scared by thunder. Current owners travel a lot and find it unfair to Ginger to be outside and alone so much when we are gone.

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet our new rescue dog, Rusty! He is a two year old American Bulldog/Shepherd mix. Rusty loves snuggling and getting belly rubs. He likes going for car rides. Rusty is anxious to please his human and is motivated by verbal praise. He loves any treat he is offered and accepts them gently while sitting. Rusty enjoys being brushed and does not like getting wet (in the sprinkler or the wet grass)!! Rusty is a very healthy stray from the Fort Morgan area of Colorado, but it is obvious to his foster mom that he has had a very positive human relationship in his past. Rusty knows how to use the dog door when he needs to go out. He is house trained ... (Read More)and learning to be crate trained. Rusty will need leash training because he can pull hard. Rusty gets along with other dogs, but sometimes he can play too rough or aggressively. Rusty has a dominant personality. He does not get along with cats. Rusty has not been observed around young kids yet. He has no preference towards men versus women. Rusty is very smart and obeys a firm voice. He knows the commands: Come, Sit, Stay, Down, Off and No Bark. Rusty needs continued training to limit aggression in play with humans and other dogs. He will need continued leash training. He can be more concerned with food in bowls other than his own, but he is learning to share at meal times. Rusty needs that chance to be a member of a family again, and he will thrive. If you'd like to meet Rusty, please fill out the online app today! Adoption fee is $175 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. He is great with kids and be a good family dog, or a great copilot for an active single person or couple. He will tend to be protective once in a home, which can be managed though some training. PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Colorado
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Colorado Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Australian Shepherds are descended from Spanish dogs that were used for herding Merino sheep. Aussies are often used by police for narcotics detection. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
