Animal ID: 120417Baby Carolina (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Miss Carolina is a sweetie if ever there was one. Though we cannot say for certain what her mix is we keep coming back to Aussie/Chihuahua. Her fur is so soft, with feathering and the right colors. But her personality says it all. This little girl was a stray for a while and really appreciates being a part of a home and family again. She loves anyone that will give her the time of day, and is smart enough to know when to sit back and figure out if someone or something means her harm before she lets her guard down. Carolina will probably be between 15 and 20 pounds full grown, and will be on the small side of a medium dog OR the ... (Read More)large side of a small dog. She is great with dogs of all ages and sizes and cats too. She even loves kids. If you would like to meet and potentially adopt Carolina please read on or go directly to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records. Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi I'm Rowdy, a 4 year old boy Australian Shepherd Mix. I am a big boy, weighing in at just under 70 lbs. Don't let my weight fool you though, I LOVE playing ball, spending time outside and have plenty of stamina. Ive had quite the life, and to be frank, I've had a ruff start. I started my life off being locked indoors with little to no socialization. With this being said, I get anxious when I see other dogs or people, and can act out. My foster says that I am sensitive, and can get worked up when out on walks when seeing other dogs or strangers. My foster says that though I may be difficult to handle at times, that I bare more positive ... (Read More)traits than negative. My foster says I am a big love bug to those who I am comfortable with, who strives to establish a deep bond and companionship with his people. I'm also great with other dogs when off leash and introduced properly, I love my dog friends and love to play. I am also your typical velcro Aussie, I am loyal and has excellent off leash skills, as long there are no strangers around! My foster says I am a medium to low energy boy who is easy going around the house, has great house manners, is fully house trained, communicative with his people and listens well. My ideal human/people would be confident, strong (mentally and physically) has patience, is herding dog savvy, willing to train, wants a dog to bond with, and most of all is understanding. They say I am misunderstood and people can be too quick to judge me! It would be best for me to live in a rural environment, or a setting where there is little visitors and low stimulation. My foster thinks I would make a great working dog (herding) or just an exceptional farm dog. I am eager to please and I already know; sit, down, wait, nose touch (recall). I could use leash training, and just overall training in general. My foster says I have TONS of potential with the right person, and has already learned a lot in the Reacue's care. I am neutered, UTD on vaccines and could loose a bit of weight, but I am just a big boy by nature. Rowdy prefers not being around kids but is neutral around cats. If you think Rowdy fits your lifestyle, please reach out and we can set up a time to chat. Thanks' Here is the application: http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application (Less)

We have a puppy that my son rescued. We are unsure of her breed maybe some terrier, lab, Shepard mix. She has a lot of energy for a puppy and she's very smart. She knows basic commands and I believe she's potty trained but my kids don't take her out so she will have accidents. She doesn't like a crate. She got to the point of breaking the bottom plastic piece of her metal crate. She is also anxious about being alone. I tried to socialize her but she definitely needs more training.     This beautiful blue boy is Alistair, a dapper 1.5 years old purebred Australian Shepherd. Alistair is all that you would expect in an Aussie. He is smart and would love to learn. He currently knows sit and leave it. Alistair is polite. He is crate and house trained. He sleeps in his crate at night. Alistair has the exuberance typical for Hsu age. He is good with people and is excited to meet them. He will need to learn not to jump up in greeting. He is also good with kids. (Read More)older Just because he has that fun puppy exuberance when he plays. He also lives with a cat so can learn to be pals with another cat. Alistair also loves people playmates because he loves to play fetch. He will play catch all day if you want. Alistair will appreciate plenty of activity. He will need some leash work so he can go with his new family to have fun. Alistair is also deaf. With that, there are a few special considerations. He prefers a slow introduction to new dogs just so he knows that they won't pick on him. He also will require someone who is willing to teach hand signals. He will learn fast. He just needs that extra education. Mostly, Alistair is extremely loyal, and will not leave your side. Although he is deaf, he finds ways to express himself through facial expressions, actions, and stance. He loves to rub and cuddle with you and will look for your attention, always. He is very sweet and smart and absolutely LOVES to be petted and brushed. He makes gurgling noises when you scratch his neck and he's just waggy and friendly all the time. || TRAINING: ... (Read More)Bloo knows SIT and is great on leash when he has a good handler. He will need some re-work on his housebreaking, but is so smart it won't take long. He is also great with a crate - so he could be crate trained really easily too. || WOULD DO BEST: Bloo would like a yard for sure - maybe even another doggie to hang out with. He would do great with someone who has at least some experience with dog training - and would probably REALLY do well at agility training. || CATS/DOGS/KIDS: Bloo has been around indoor cats his whole life and is indifferent to them. He is great with other dogs on a one-on-one basis - but isn't recommended for dog parks because he will try to referee any doggie argument that takes place :) Bloo would make a FANTASTIC family dog for homes with children. || VET RECORD :All of our dogs are currently vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.
