Animal ID: 1059Raine (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Raine! I may look big, but I'm only about forty pounds. I'm about a year and a half old, and within that short time frame, I've had a pretty hard life. When I was younger, my previous owners did not treat me great, and they would let their other dogs treat me just as mean. I don't understand'| I just want to love, play, and be around my family. Because of this, I'm awfully skittish of the world around me; I tend to be afraid to step out and meet people and other dogs'| I also tend to be protective of my food because I used to have to fight the big dogs at my old house just to eat. When I was taken out of that situation and ... (Read More)placed with my foster family, I started out being scared because the people who were going to care for me also had dogs. As time went by, and with love and care from this family, I have opened up a lot more. Instead of being afraid to go outside or be social, I now love my foster dog-sister and like to go outside (and sometimes I just don't want to come in) My foster mom has given me chances to learn and do new things. I found out I love going on car rides, and if you put me in the front seat, I'll either sit there and keep you company or I'll just fall asleep, both without any fear of being in the car. I have found that walks are pretty nice, though there are moments that scare me, such as cars passing by; but with some gentle coaxing, I'll continue with the walk. I also love to play games such as chase and tug of war. I'm pretty cooperative when it comes to baths, but getting a brush-down is where it's at. I can sit for a very long time and enjoy that. I don't really care too much to go to the vet, mainly because of new people and animals, but give me some time and I'll cooperate. I'm pretty housebroken, and I've been spayed. I also know how to sit when you tell me to. I don't really know any other tricks or commands, but I'm willing to learn from someone caring and patient. I am playful, energetic, and full of love. With love and support from a caring and patient family, I would love to share my caring, sweet nature and learn new things. If you are interested in making this pup part of your family, please fill out our adoption application:http://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Adoption fee is $275 and all proceeds go towards future adoptions (Less)
