Rescue Me ID: 18-02-02-00025Bella (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful, obedient, intelligent and so ready to love you. Bella is just a 50 lb cuddly puppy. If she didn't like to chase our cats so much and could get along with our 15 lb Jackapoo, I would not be on this site. She gets along great with our other dog who is the same age, size and temperament and gets along with other dogs when we board her. Bella and her brother are best buds and this is breaking our hearts but we have to make sure our 10 year old dog doesn't provoke a fight with her because she will fight back. She is great with kids and adults and is very submissive and shy. I have a niece and nephew that are 6 and 7. Bella loves to ... (Read More)play with them and is very good with them. We love our Bella so much. She is very playful and loves to cuddle in bed. She would be great for a family who doesn't already have a dog or who has a dog around the same size as Bella who gets along with other dogs and would not be aggressive towards her. She will be 2 years old in March. (Less)

Blondie's father was a beautiful red merle Aussie and she has the red merle on her ears. Mother was a collie looking dog. She is 6 mos. old. She is super smart and stays in her room at night for 10 hours with no bathroom mistakes. She loves to play and snuggle and would make a great companion. Her coloring is quite unusual and striking. This is a sweet dog.

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-17-00126Bolt (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Abused/Neglected

This dog was found as a stray at a industrial warehouse in a desolate area off a very busy highway. Through searching venues, no one has stepped up to claim. We named him Bolt although he doesn't respond to any name. Dog has not been neutered and it is unknown if he has ever been vaccinated. He appears healthy, and is extremely happy, loving and active. Due to his Catahoula nature, he is strong and probably needs to be in a one dog Home. He deserves a good home. Vet references required

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Shepherd in Alabama
Australian Shepherd Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Shepherd, or Aussie, is a playful breed that provides excellent companionship to active children. Aussies are smart, trainable, protective, and eager to please. Australian Shepherds are gentle with humans and aggressive when herding farm animals. Aussies are active even when indoors and do best with plenty of exercise in a large yard.

lnteresting Australian Shepherd Trivia Low-Cost Alabama Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Shepherds are not Australian; they were developed in the United States for herding livestock on American ranches. Aussies are often used by police for narcotics detection. Some Australian Shepherds are prized for their beautiful merle coloring, but the gene that causes this coloring also results in deafness or blindness.
